Manx Classic 2009

Featured Replies

Congratulations to John Maxfield on winning the 2009 Manx 2 Day Classic again. Must be his specialist subject!

Results can be found here.

Can someone please put a good word to help him get an entry for the Pre65 Scottish two Day!

He's not getting any younger and his bike is not too trick.

Yes well done John, As for Scotland,Well he could be on the too many "Cubs" register?

Regards Charlie.

excellent result for John  well deserved doesn't seem to make any difference what trial's John wins he still wont get a ride in Scotland and as for too many Cubs register !! we all know thats a load of bull s*** . i can almost see the entry next year ,,,, same old riders as normal always get a ride,,,,, so much for a ballot :)

Yeah - you can never have to many 250 cubs.

Beating the whipper snapper out of first position was sheer class.

This is a rider who can progress the sport, who can push those Scotland consider the 'best' and perhaps cause a shake up? Is that what they are scared of?

Surely those with a certain number of points / placings across the year should be the cream, rising to the top of the ballot. We all know names who we know we will see on the coming entry list.

What bike should John ride? He has tried entering on other machines to no avail. his Cub is certainly not some titanium hybrid with thousands of pounds thrown at it.

He is being invited into Europe for works rides but is missing the recognition he so richly deserves at home - trustworthy Scotts - PROVE IT! Give the bloke a fair shot. Or do you prefer the rasict ****e from my cousin at your dinner last year?

Over to you and weight of public opinion, come on people give John the support he needs - he has missed riding in Scotland for a considerable number of years - 25+! Proudest photo on his wall is coming up the pipeline.

Time to let him have a fair bite of the cherry?

and if there is a too many cubs register - this bloke should be at the top of the bloody thing, not the bottom!

john proves again that he is a very good rider as he has done for many years and not just on pre65 bikes

his cub is modded as much as the majority though and he has ridden a number of p65 scottish trials without real sucess. perhaps his time will come so another 'unknown' rider can lift the trophy again

Talking of beating the whipper snapper maybe if no sorry WHEN Carl wins the traditional series he will get a entry in the 2010 scottish pre 65 trial
