January 18, 200521 yr I see that some of you have fitted 16T Primary duplex sprocket. How does this compare to the standard 19T. I was going to leave my standard primary at 19T and fit the following 13t Gearbox 64t Rear sprocket 420 chain. What do you think.
January 19, 200521 yr This will be OK. The advantage of a smaller primary is that you can reduce the size of rear sprocket making it less vulnerable to snagging.
January 19, 200521 yr Author If i use the 16 T primary. What sprockets do you guys reccomend using. Bearing in mind the 64 may get snagged. I have at present 17T front and 58 T rear will this be ok. Save me some cash, as these are all relatively new.
January 19, 200521 yr One advantage of using a 13T gearbox sprocket is that it gives more clearance for mud/leaves in that confined space. The previous owner of my cub had to strip the engine down because the gearbox sprocket seal was pushed in by debris causing bad oil leak!! For comparison if you go (a)19x49, 16x58 as per standard trials cub the final ratio in 4th is 9.135. (b)16x48,17x58 as you suggest it will be 10.23 final ratio in 4th. ©19x48, 13x64 as per your other option it will be 12.40 final ratio, bearing in mind all 1st ratio's are the same 16 mainshaft 29 layshaft. then the last option will give the lowest ratio. its hot with this anorak on!!!!!!!
