Help Needed! Beta Evo Leaking Fuel

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Wonder if anyone can help me. Just got me a 290 2009 Beta Evo. I rode it for the first time yesterday (for about 2mins), the bike kept stalling and trying to die on me, i looked down and there was fuel pooring out of the clear breather pipe on the side of the carburettor. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Im not very technical but could there be a blockage in the carb? Is it just a matter of taking the carb off cleaning it, making sure there is not mud or grit in there? Or is there something else i need to be doing?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Jimmy

if anyone says adjust float they are mad.so simply strip carb where the float needle closes fuel off a bit of dirt needs cleaning out you may not see anything its so small.

i think its something to do with the overflow brass pipe inside the float bowl on the 09. its angle is exagirated by the way the carb is angled into the intake on the beta. pretty sure there is a mod you can get from lamkins for it.

Careful all you dribbly Beta owners out there ,Obama has pledged to keep his ''boot on the throat'' of those responsible for petrochemical spillages. :P
