That looks like a 97 beta techno. If I remember rightly. The 98 was black, the 99 was red, then they went onto the rev. 97, final answer.

I had a 2009 290 Evo, which I loved. I swapped for a 2011 290 Sherco and I thought it was a brilliant bike. No regrets at all! It never gave me any problems. I swapped that for a 2012 Evo, and ive gotta be honest, I preferred the Sherco. It's a lovely bike to ride.

Definately I had a 2012 300 2t Evo and I swapped it for a 2012 Ossa, and I love it! It's been the best bike I've ever had and I've had a few. It is so easy to ride and very forgiving, especially for a wobbler like me. It's light and easy to move about and the suspension is awesome! My bike has never missed a beat and starts everytime. I would not hesitate in getting another. Infact I've got my new one on order.

Yep I've broke one, and it wasnt even my fault! I was waiting in the que at a section, and the bloke behind me didn't realise he'd left his bike in gear, let his clutch out and his bike crashed into the back of mine snapping the rear mudguard on my 2 day old bike. Gutted. He didnt run into me hard but I was Suprised at how easily it broke.

I had a 2011 280 Gas Gas for about 3 weeks. I really didnt get on with it. I much preffered my 290 Evo i had before it. It was nowhere near as much fun to ride as my Evo. I now have a 290 Sherco which i think is brilliant.

I had an 09 Evo 290 and I loved it. Sold it for a new 2011 gasser 280. I hated it! I had it for 3 weeks and swapped it in for a new sherco 290 which is awesome. Go for a beta or a new sherco.

Beta all the way. Better build quality than the Gasser in my opinion. Although there are loads of Gassers at trials so people must like them. I have an EVO and will definately be getting a new one when they come out.

Hi there, Wonder if anyone can help me. Just got me a 290 2009 Beta Evo. I rode it for the first time yesterday (for about 2mins), the bike kept stalling and trying to die on me, i looked down and there was fuel pooring out of the clear breather pipe on the side of the carburettor. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Im not very technical but could there be a blockage in the carb? Is it just a matter of taking the carb off cleaning it, making sure there is not mud or grit in there? Or is there something else i need to be doing? Any advice would be much appreciated.
