September 19, 201015 yr I think either I lost a few ball bearings when I disassembled or they were missing already. What size and the total number for both the top and bottom are need for the head stock/stearing assembly. The plastic "races" are in good condition just short a few bearings. It would be nice to just go to the industrial supply and pick up. Thanks Sunny

September 19, 201015 yr There are 23 balls for the top and 23 balls for the bottom, for a total of 46 balls. I found the the balls bearing and be found at a petal bike shop. They are use in some front wheels.
September 19, 201015 yr The number of balls depends on the race having a plastic spacer to position the balls 20 required or no spacer 23 balls required. I replaced the complete bearings in my bike recently as the bottom race was corroded. Hope this helps.

September 21, 201015 yr Author I got it all buttoned up today. I was able to get 3/16 ball bearings at the local hardware store.
