2003 Sherco 250 no go

Featured Replies

I finally got the flywheel puller from the UK, took the flywheel off to find some light dusting on the contacts of the stator, cleaned them up and still no spark. I kicked the bike over holding the spark lead, nothing..it should have thrown me across the garage! Any ideas?

People have said 'Its the stator, they all go'. how can I test it?

Cheers.

Basically by process of elimination! I suppose this is a Leonelli unit? How did troubles start?

Disconnect kill button/switch.

Spark plug? Is it new? Inspect plug cap connection?

Are earths clean and tight on the CDI unit?

Do you have a mate with a Sherco to at least possibly swap CDI units?

Send it all off to UK Motoplat to be tested?

Its a long haul to send the stator to the UK, but thanks anyway. All elimination possible points have been done. It just wouldnt start after a long lay off between rides. Just has no spark..

Readings for leonelli stators are on splatshop's site

If you do need to replace it I can't fault Chris for his service, took less than 2 weeks to get a replacement to NZ including the time for the mine to get to him
