Hi my name is Morten.

I just bought this bike, possible the only Wassell in Norway. (registered for road use)

I was told it is a 1974 Trial ? Antilope ? Can anyone tell me anything about this particular bike ?

The seat and taillight is for sure not original, anything else ?

Regards Morten

Congrats on your project!

I've asked the knowledgeable Maarten Mager, who was at the time sole importer of Wassell into Norway. He says it doesn't look like the trials bike, which was of considerably lighter build. Furthermore, there was only one 125 trials bike imported through his firm, which he rode himself. While he can't remember who bought it, this is not the bike. Conclusion: Your bike seems designed for motocross or the like, and may have been taken into Norway at a later time. If you'd like to get in touch, Maarten can be reached through "Maartensimport" or you could contact me (adress given on www.trialavisa.no, which was started by Maarten Mager but is now edited by me)

BTW I checked your blog. Nice Gileras

I will contact Maarten after the holiday, thank you again.

Hi Morten,

Your bike for sure started out as a Wassell Antelope trials bike but has been altered to make it more like a trail bike. You already mentioned the seat and tail light, other things are the exhaust extension, chain guard, and head light. Other than that it looks pretty complete.

I have owned about ten of these sold as Penton Trials here in the states. Nice find.

Regards, Dennis

Thank you Dennis.

Just picked up the bike today, almost complete as far as i can see.

Alu muduards and chainguard missing, the mudguards is no problem to find i think.

But the chainguard.... have not found it yet.

Nice score on the grips. I have some NOS cables if you get to that point.

I will make this thread a "build thread" some time after the summer.

Then i would like the cables, are they grey or black ?

Great progress. Always nice to see a bike returning from the dead.

Thank you. I was lucky. The bike was in very good condition.

Hello Morten,

Very nice find. Can you tell me what shocks you are using and how you like them?

Thanks

I used original shocks from my Yamaha RD 350 as a mock up. Actually they work pretty good.

I have not tested them yet, so a may swap them for a pair of Betor.

Coming along quite well Morten

I plan to redo mine again this winter.

Thank you kanur :)

You should do yours too, it looks pretty complete ?

Cheapest restoration ever, just a lot of work polishing all the parts ;)

What about your engine, do you have to redo it too ?
