Gear Changing

Featured Replies

I dont no weather its me or the bike. but sometimes when i change gear it dont seem to select properly (its jumps a bit in gear then jumps out of gear) could this be me not selceting it right. its a 96 scorpa 250

I dont have a scorpa but I do have a late model TY, which I guess has the same (or similar) gearbox and it is not that cleaver at getting into gear and does jump out if you don't select properly. Also I spent 20 minutes watching a section a couple of weeks ago and one fella with a scorpa certainly did the most tap dancing trying to select a gear before entering the section. Bottom line is if you make sure the gear is seleceted fully and it jumps out and it is always the same gear you may have a problem, otherwise it probably just a "feature" of Yamaha gearboxes.
