August 19, 201115 yr Evening all Can I ask which coolant you use please. I currently have an 06 rev 3. My problem is I have no bikes shops locally. All advice is welcome and thanks in advance.
August 19, 201115 yr Don't use tap water, ions, or something, will eat the casings away. Go to a car parts store and get some ready-mixed coolant, no particular brand.
August 19, 201115 yr Author Thank you. I'll go down to my local motor spares shop and pick a liter or 2 up.
August 20, 201115 yr If your motor has magnesium cases use a coolent that will not promote electrolysis. I use engine ice.
August 20, 201115 yr Anti-freeze for cars with an inhibitor (should say on bottle) mixed 50:50 with distilled water

August 21, 201115 yr Anti-freeze for cars with an inhibitor (should say on bottle) mixed 50:50 with distilled water Be careful on that one. Many car coolants contain silicate, as part of their anti-corrosive feature. That silicate can act as an abrasive in motorcycle water pumps. I have been using the Hondaline HP Coolant (pre-mixed, ready to go.), for years, in a variety of bike brands, including Beta, for the past 4 years. Knock on wood, no problems so far.
