Are 2.50 - 20 front tyres a thing of the past?

Hi there

as promised on a previous post, I've checked my son's whitehawk front tyre

It is almost new (unused) but there are some sidewall cracks so I guess it may have been NOS st some point, or someone had one lying around.

It's a Pirelli 20 - 2.5, marked 'Mototrial' - also says 'US market only'

hopefully this will help !

cheers

John

Hi John, thanks for the reply. I too have a Pirelli, 2.50 - 20 on the front. Tread good, but side walls falling apart, badly falling apart. It must be due to age.

I'll keep looking, the Kempton Park jumble is on the 28th, I've got my fingers crossed that one will be there. I really dont want to go 19" or 21".

I'm told mine is a mark 2 ?

Is yours single tank/seat ? The red ones I've seen have been separate tank/seat ?

Lovely bikes - and frames are a work of art

cheers

john

Yes, single tank/seat. What age do you think? I guess we better move this back to the Yamaha section of the forum. I was just trying to reach the masses in this section, as there must be a 2.50 - 20 out there somewhere.
