Laia Sanz joins team Montesa

Laia Sanz, current womens' World trials champion, will join the factory Montesa-HRC team in 2004. The team is very proud welcoming into its ranks a new reference for this motorcycling speciality at world series level.

Born on December 11, 1985 in Corbera de Llobregat (Barcelona), Laia Sanz is the best female rider in the history of the sport, a status proven by the four World series titles achieved by the young Catalan rider from the year 2000, as well as the European titles in the last two seasons.

Honda sure likes to buy the #1 plate.

Craig, when Laia switched from Gas Gas to Beta 2 years ago she was the Number #1 Woman in the World. Did you make the same comments about Beta then??? Please be fair.

You assume that this is about money. The truth is that you do not know the details of her deal with Montesa.

Laia has been given an incredible opportunity. She is on the Montesa World Team and able to train with the best riders in the world. She will be given great equipment and great support. As a fellow trials rider I wish her the best.
