andyj007
As it says, dropped on a new barrel and piston in the tlr tonight, got it all back together and fired up.. Sounds lovely, admiring my handy work with bike purring in background and notice on the old head where barrel meets bottom case that I dowel pin stayed on old head. Looking through manual, it appears there should be three of them. So probably my only has two now.. Any one tell me what exactly they do? And if I can leave it for a while with no risk of damage?... Cheers.
smalley250
The third was always a spare ment for loosing, like the extra bolt " where the fcuk did this go ? " Two should be enough to keep it located as a lot of bikes only have two
hop blip and a jump
I think its just to keep the head in the right postition ready for when you torque it down, it should be fine.
ringnalda
Could be a problem if that was the only one... Hopefully the one with the 'O' ring where the oil goes up is still in place? Once the bolts are tight and the gasket is tight things shouldn't move anymore. I'd leave it until the next tear-down. Jan
