July 28, 201313 yr I started my rev3 up today after about a week and it is just revving out of control. The twist grip is returning fine and it sounds like the slide is in the carb - any ideas?
July 28, 201313 yr carb top loose we used to do that to mates bikes when they werent looking start up and rev their nuts off worth a look
July 28, 201313 yr Author I noticed the rubber hose between the carb and air box was loose - after sorting that it still revved out of control (by this point I had messed with the idle screw) I shut it off and couldn't get it start again - no spark now!!! I have checked the wiring all ok, I am now getting a really weak spark, not enough to fire it up?? Never had this problem before?
July 29, 201313 yr Not likely you developed two different problems at the same time Perhaps In a frenzy you injured the kill switch when the engine was screaming The boot on the air box side could not be the cause, there is no vacuum on that side
August 4, 201313 yr Tear in inlet boot between carb and cylinder? Sticking throttle cable? Rev3s use a rather short sleeved cable. Contaminant in the throttle bore? A disassemble and inspect is the only way to go.
