Featured Replies

Ive just got my bike back from the mechanic and it wants to ride itself when in gear and the clutch is pulled in? it didn't do this before tho for sure? It only went in for new seals, gaskets etc... and I gave him putoline nano trans to put back in the engine and ice cooler too!! any ideas whats wrong? I have noticed oil around the seal/cap on the clutch reservoir since its come back tho?? I trust my mechanic before anybody thinks its him lol! he used to be a Honda race mechanic etc...

What are you on about? Do you mean the clutch does not disengage(plates stuck)?

This is normal!

I was a Honda race mechanic. I rode p*** out of them than had to keep them running!

Clutch drag can happen for various reasons. 3 mostly likely reasons and fixes.

1) clutch lever adjusted incorrectly. Readjust.

2) air in the clutch hydraulic system. Bleed.

3) drag caused by transmission / clutch oil. Use different oil.

Maybe you just found out why he's no longer a race mech.

Does the problem "go away" when warmed up?

The Sherco I had when first started sometimes the clutch plates would stick together and with the clutch lever pulled in would still ride away. After a little bit of riding and pulling clutch lever in and out the plates would free up and everything would be fine from then on. From what I understand that was/is a common occurance.
