July 17, 201412 yr Hi everyone thought i would increase the power of my Scorpa SY250 2002 by fitting carbon reeds was wondering if anyone had done this improvement, built the bike back up but it wont idel and takes a few kicks to start then cuts off was wondering if you have to upgrade the pilot jets in the carb or is it a case of messing about with the air screw, was wondering if anyone knows what the set up with the carb is, i'm not that mechanically minded all help would be appreciated.
July 17, 201412 yr It seems I had the same problem: it started at second kick, but as soon as I open the throttle, it used to die. I tried almost everything (thought it was the problem with the carb or intake reeds) and in the end mechanic said that it was partly broken crankshaft seal: it holds but not good enough, and as I open the throttle it start sucking extra air and kill the machine. He replaced the seal and it fires on the first kick again. Edited July 17, 201412 yr by exman
