Climber 240 Kick Start Problem Help?

Featured Replies

I am new to the group, and own a climber 240.  I am having trouble with the install of the kickstart return spring assembly.  Is there someone who can help me with this?  I am not sure how the retaining bolt on the bottom of the motor holds anything?  I assemble the clutch cover only to start the motor and have the kickstart gear click against the clutch gear once the return spring pushes its gear out against it......  is there a utube on the install?

You never remove the retaining bolt except during installation. It holds the kick start  shaft in it`s proper location. Other than that it has been many years since I`ve done one. You did remove the shift shaft and clean and lube it while you are in there. You probably have to rotate the ks shaft a turn to get tension on the spring before you tighten the bolt.
