Electric motion

Featured Replies

Anyone riding electric bikes at trials yet? Are they reliable enough ? I reckon they might be decent to practice around on in the garden.. Especially if the second hand ones drop to just a couple of grand and are sturdy enough to last a few years it could be a lot of fun.. every night !

Then on the real machine at the weekend

Electric Motion are indeed ridden in trials, are absolutely reliable to my knowledge and are as "real" a trials bike as anything else if you look at the videos. They're nothing like two grand secondhand yet, so better stick to a trials bicycle if you fancy honing skills at home without incurring the wrath of the neighbours.

Not sure about their value as a training/practice aid as the one I tried rode nothing like a conventional bike.

No engine feedback ( silent for the neighbours but not much good for gauging power delivery), no clutch     ( clutch bite point on your normal bike is very important), steering lock on the one I tried was awful ( no excuse for this just bad design, my Gasser turns much tighter without any trickery)
