Has anyone had any problems with the water pump on the Sherco 290 motor?

I have a Sherco x-ride which runs this motor. On a recent long distance trial the water pump impeller separated from the water pump on a road section and it all went down hill from there. Looking at a new piston and barrel, plus water pump and bits. Motor had done around 3000 miles and was otherwise sound.

Interested to know if this is a common problem and if there are any fixes.

Have seeing it. Brass thread separated from plastic part.

It was after trottle stuck open and engine rev to hell
