I thought I would share this with you all. I have been looking at various options to repair the stripped threads on my barrel and came across Seager Engineering who were advertising the service for Norton's. They have carried out the repair by machining and installing a bronze insert with a parallel thread. The workmanship is superb and I would highly recommend them.

For those of us here in the USA, Alex Snoop offers this service also, albeit possibly subcontracted by OSSA Engineering.

I've previously bought a new threaded insert from Keith Lynas in the US made from aluminium and then locally had the hole in the cylinder machined out and the insert welded in place.

I had Seager do both exhausts on my Norton Commando I am very happy with them.
