Is there good repair for the aluminium petrol tank,or can you get them welded

as the seem at the bottom is leeking. Heet & petrol do not mix.

hi mate the best thing i have found to use is araldite metal epoxy, but make sure you clean the tank with evo cleaner 191

Wyldes in leeds have the white epoxy tank sealer, 20 quid, mix it up, pour it in leave for 4 days, fill it up and ride off...

That'll be seam, leaking, heat and silly then.

dont bother, with trying epoxy repairs as they wont last long.a few months at best.take your tank to any local metal fabricators and they should be able to repair it no problem. will cost you around

Try Petseal,you might have to order it as it as a use by date,some shops do,nt keep on shelf.If you go down the welding route you might have to budget for a new tank sticker,ask first.

thing is,

you have to fill the tank with water when you weld,

my dad knows a guy who welded a tank without water in, and it blew up in his face,

so best to fill up the water to the weld area.

but job done, excellent
