February 1, 200620 yr Hi All, Just got a 2005 290 to replace my old Beta 270. Loving it! I'm looking for an owners manual for it, so I've been on the Sherco website and had a look for one on there, but they only give downloads up to 2004, does anyone have a copy of the 2005 manual they can email me? What I need to know really I suppose is the fuel/oil ratio, and which settings are on, off & reserve on the fuel tap. Anyone help please? Cheers
February 2, 200620 yr Easy-- I'm sure on all Sherco frames near the head-stock there is a plate which states 2% pre-mix. I've had four Shercos now and I run mine on 75cc ( fully synth) per 5litres of optimax which is less than the 2% stated. Shercos have a middlebox/silencer combined--if you use too much oil in your mix the packaging gums up and it is virtually impossible to clear them out successfully. As for your 'petcock!!!'-- point it down for ON-- point it left(out over)for OFF-- point it right ( in towards the exhaust) for RESERVE. Okeedokee? Edited February 2, 200620 yr by HAM2

February 2, 200620 yr Be careful with the petcock. Hold it with one hand and move it with the other. Some tanks had a weak spot there.
