2023 Nitro Coolant Issues

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, new to the forum so hopefully I've posted this in the correct place.

I'm also new to the Vertigo club and unfortunately, I've had nothing but trouble with it.

Initially it had a faulty relay, which prevented the fan coming on, and the bike over heated, boiling off a lot of coolant. I changed all 3 relays just to be on the safe side, problem solved.

Ironically, now the fan is on too much. Once the bike gets up to temp, the fan comes on and doesn't turn off - So much so, that I think it's causing the battery to drain. (it's brand new and already down to 2/6 bars)

I can probably add 40 - 60ml of coolant after every ride. I must have done this 5 times.

My question is, where is the coolant going!? Or is it simply really hard to bleed the coolant system? I've had the front wheel up high, bike side to side, all that stuff to try and bleed it.

There doesn't appear to be any smoke in the exhaust, it's burning very clean. No leaks that I can see, no puddles under the bike in the morning. I might get a couple of drips out of the overflow valve after I brim it, but doesn't look like anywhere near what I can put in (to my untrained eye).

I'm at a bit of a loss, if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks, Will.

I'd be checking the thermostat since you are having trouble with the timing of the fan.

Coolant expands when its hot, so if you have brimmed the tank when its cold it will eject some and come to its natural level after you have used it.
