Sunday at 06:31 PM1 day Hi there, I'm starting a Montesa Cota 200 restauration. My Grandfather bought it at the Montesa factory back in the time (first hand). She stayed maybe 30 years without starting.Could you help me with find the documentation I need (I speak Spanish so it might be easier to find one). I already have the parts plans in exploded view, but no technical documentation...I gently kicked it, and there’s no problem with the engine (I guess so, I could have kicked it entirely). It’s my first restauration and I have some very basic knowledge in mechanic, but it’s my first time in mechanic. The bike looks great, I don’t think there’s any rust on it. I’d like to remove the tank to clean it before filling it, what do you think about it ? I don't want to start it without checking the tank and his state (idk if you know what I mean, English isn't my first language). I'd like to check several parts before starting it. Also, there's the black part on the top of the shocks absorber (back) cracked, where can I find parts if they're still available ? Thanks for your help !Ride safe ✌🏻 Edited Sunday at 08:12 PM1 day by Xaarzuu

Sunday at 10:41 PM1 day Hi mate, I have the same bike. Nice little Montesas!Yes I would flush the tank and put fresh fuel in it. Drain the fuel from the carby bowl. Check the Gearbox oil and sparkplug, see if it has spark. Check the condition of the air filter. They're usually good places to start. In Motion in the UK has quiet a few spares for these if needed. Pistons are rare though. What's the other Montesa in the background?Cheers, Scott. Edited yesterday at 12:32 AM1 day by ScottDownSouth
Yesterday at 06:08 AM1 day Author @ScottDownSouth Thanks for your help mate ! I'll definitely do that whenever I've got time. The second one is a Montesa Cota 75 (idk the exact year, probably in the late 70's). I love your bike, it's has be amazing to ride I guess ! Do you have any idea about it value on the market ? what oil lubricant are you using for the mix ? I'd thought about 10w40 or Motul 300v. And that about the oil lub for the gearbox ? Is there any type of spark plug I should use ?Thanks for your help !

Mixing the fuel with synthetic Castrol 2 stroke oil at 50:1. Spark plug is an NGK B6ES.
