Fuel Pumps On 125's

Featured Replies

While at the World round, I saw a couple of 125's (GG and Sherco) with vacuum driven Fuel pumps similar to what we use on our mowers.

They appeared to be running a standard carb on these machines.

Can someone shed some light on this for me?

As the manifold vacume changes the little diaphram in the pump pushes the fuel through the little valves and sends it to the carburator! Duh! :P

Why, you ask, the motor needs fuel to run! Duh again! :stoned::beer:

I noticed Taddy had one on the 4T Scorpa as well!

The only thing I can figure is that the antigravity boots these kids are wearing has some sort of adverse effect on normal fuel flow.

In accordance with some law of physics and the first rule of plumbing, sh--t usually runs downhill just fine all by itself. However I did witness that rattling a-s Scorpa make it up a couple of hills so now I see the need for the pump.

Simple as that!

Maybe Bigwig knows more, as I was not able to get anything out of the Sherco kids with one due to the language barrier as they did not speak redneck very well! I do not think Alexz used one though.
