If this is a brand new bike I'm pleased to tell you it will calm down over time but a slow throttle isn't a bad idea anyway if your just starting out. It doesn't make a lot of difference other than just off the bottom. It's better for controlling the bike when your riding up a section at say a slow jogging pace. The bike won't jump forward so much and feel like it wants to take off. On the other hand when you want that urge its still there with a little more twist. I'd recommend giving it a try, they aren't very expensive and you can always go back.
Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.

If you have a Domino throttle and the throttle tube is white then its a quick one. If you already have the black (slow) throttle tube you may want to look at other means of 'softening' the motor such as a head spacer or flywheel weight, if not already installed.

i have a 280 pro aswell and am starting off,i had a slow throttle until i smashed it off a tree,my mate said he had a slow throttle in his shed(white)i noticed a hell of a diffrence with it,probably because its a fast one...it seems to wheelie up everything with very little effert, this will explain why..
