    Sprocket Sizes

was wondering what sprocket combination to put on my 280 pro..at present its got a 41 rear and a 9 front..this is what it came with ..but i have a new 42 rear in the shed and was wondering what sprocket to get for front and how many links in chain..maybe a silly question but never bought one before..
  3. hmmm sounds abit serious is this job something that could be done in my own shed,or is it a specialist job,i am pretty handy around the bike and am keen to get wired in,but wouldnt want to get stuck into something thats going to require a major stripdown and rebuild..or would it be better putting up with problem until it gets worse..!
  4. hi all,i just picked up a very tidy 2005 125 pro for my lad, bike is very clean and well maintained only prob is it crunches badly into higher end gears,i know my 280 crunches slightly in higher gears but not a severe as this,i could here him and i was ahead of him with helmet on and still could here loudly... there is no clutch drag goes into gear fine pulls away fine, was really hoping that this could turn out to be clutch plates....and if so are they relativly easy to replace ans set up..any info much appretiated.. all my fault of course for not checking the bike properly, but got at a very good price considering the condition overall..i changed gearoil last night for atf dex 3 but no diffrence.. another quick question the bike is a 125 pro 'racing' seamingly a slightly more beefed up version,is this right enough does say 125 special on origonal sale document, but never heard of it myself and if it is what is the diffrence from a normal pro thanks again alan
  5. i was wondering how these would perform i noticed they are at a good price,is the grip level good on them, and how do they wear,i just bought a new michelin for the front of mine but the price of the vee tyre was very tempting but never had any idea on performance, and i need all the help i can to stay on at the best of time lol.
  6. update on this problem, still is a bugger to start now and then, not as bad as it was,i think cleaning and sealing up stator has done it abit of good, will put up with it just now as only does it now and again and will get it rewound in the winter months..
  7. thanks for that jon,the seal has arrived but going to go out onit to make sure it defo needs doing...
  8. was out playing yesterday in the water, noticed there was a rainbow following me in the water, turns out it was dripping oil, this was fine when playing on dry ground did notice fuel was slightly leaking from tap(new one on way), anyway got home and stripped off front sprocket to see if i could see any leak there was lots of plastic mess trapped behind the sprocket, did notice this a few weeks ago coz it was wrapped round everything ... i am hoping the chain oil has been accumulating in this and has washed out when going through water hense the rainbow and dripping oil.. if not i have already ordered a gasket for casing was wondering if its possible to fit this in place or do i have to take off casing looks like it would be total strip down...eeeek...

    Gas Gas Throtle

i have a 280 pro aswell and am starting off,i had a slow throttle until i smashed it off a tree,my mate said he had a slow throttle in his shed(white)i noticed a hell of a diffrence with it,probably because its a fast one...it seems to wheelie up everything with very little effert, this will explain why..

    Gear Oil Milky!

gave my lads techno 250 an oil change the other day as the oil was very milky looking, changed and flushed out but after a days ridding its milky again... there also seems to be a knock coming from engine doesnt seem to get louder or faster with revs but still knocks...engine was seamingly rebuilt before i bought it...what should i be looking at doing to rectify the problem..it starts and runs fine no loss of power and fires up first kick hot or cold..
  13. just to recap on this problem, after sealing up stator casing bike seems to be starting fine, been out twice started ok all day even when in water, there was a couple of times it was reluctant to start but a flick of the chock seemed to start it ok,so hopefully it will be okay.....and wont need to keep it running all day...
  14. i siliconed mine up was getting bother with dampness on stator been fine since..
