after 8 months and perhaps 10hrs riding the new genuine honda (expensive) thermo switch has died and its overheating, i'm skint as a result of redundancy
so was wondering if i could wire the fan to be on all the time? just for a few months till i can afford a new one?

If you do that 'mod' remember that your fan will be running continuously along with your engine....something it was not intended to do.
It's a great field mod to get you home but that fan motor was only designed to complete 'so many' rotations in it's life span.
I reckon a new fan is 10 times more expensive than a new 'stat switch?
As always, the choice is yours, now that you have the relevant info

For the last time...it's not 'SUPPOSED' to have a seat.

Are you sure its the switch and not he fan on its way out - a slow running fan will cause bike to overheat.
Best of luck

Apparently a stone got stuck in the fan blades and caused the bike to overheat??
