  1. The gearing was changed, the transmission had work done, I believe there was some work done to the cylinder head to enhance air flow, not quite sure of all of the work done but I can get more details. All I know is that the bike has a lot of pull for a 200cc fourstroke... Jan
  2. Hmm nice. But it doesn't have the lighting kit so not for me.. I'll just stick to mine. .
  3. Could be a problem if that was the only one... Hopefully the one with the 'O' ring where the oil goes up is still in place? Once the bolts are tight and the gasket is tight things shouldn't move anymore. I'd leave it until the next tear-down. Jan
  4. I have an RTL kickstarter, triple clamp and a stand also. I guess to get an idea of value they would have to go on ebay?
  5. Already posted this in another thread but realized it was somewhat off-topic. I have a TLR200 with mods done by Bob Gollner I purchased from Tim Beaven a few years back. Having read about some stolen bikes I want to add this bike to my insurance policy, but need to have an agreed value if I don't want them to pay $100 for a 20-odd year old dirtbike... I enclose a couple of pics of the bike, any idea of current market value or insurance value would be appreciated. Thanks, Jan
  6. It took a year because I spent all kinds of time looking for parts... NOS fenders, NOS exhaust, NOS side covers. It's easier to find Rocking-horse $hit... Enjoy the bike they're great riding bikes.
  7. I spent about a year on getting mine to this point: Not an easy restore, parts are indeed tough to find.
  8. I have an affliction for old Honda trials bikes. In the stable is a TLR250R, a TLR200 reflex, a 1975 and a 1976 TL250, a 1988 and a 1989 RTL250s. And then some CBX's and CB1100R's...

    My Honda Rtl

Nice bike. Good handywork on that muffler. Jan
  10. If memory serves correctly it is pure yellow. Need the kit to work for entry into the US, then it will be boxed for riding as you suggest. Rear light useful for filling holes in rear fender... I just cannot find a spare wire on the bike, is it not normally run up? A scanned email for the wiring dia would be VERY HELPFUL! mrcbx@att.net Jan
  11. Hi all, Looking for some advice. I have a complete light kit for my 1989 RTL250 and have fitted all of the parts, however to get things to actually light up, I need to attach it to the wiring loom of the bike. I have two green wires on the extra wiring, one female and one male which can nicely go into the existing loom where an existing green connection is already present. In addition I have a yellow wire which I cannot find a home for. Anybody been there done that? Jan

    88 Rtl Decals

I have a new decal for the 1988 white double disc model. Only have the left side. Right side is a mirror image. Might be willing to have it used to generate perfect copies, Jan
  14. I am of course completely biased, but would it be an idea to have a class for trial competitions limted to four-stroke engined bikes built before 1990? That would make the RTL honda shine once more, and would allow twinshock as well as monoshock bikes to compete in this class...
  15. Hi all, I need to find a workshop manual or a parts list for a 1986 and a 1989 RTL250 honda. Also need to know if someone can help me to find an original headstock and bearing set, as well as levers and lever perches. Finally I'd also like to find a new muffler... and perhaps a lighting kit. Thanks for any help, Jan
