Thanks again for the tips and suggestions. Cleaned the carb as suggested and actually found some gunk in the main jet holder! swear down it wasnt there the other 47 times I cleaned the carb!! Yes renewed the O rings, think I might invest in a new pilot jet though! Yes got an inline filter as well. The reason I mention the premix is that I thought I may be putting in too much oil as it was a bit smokey on full throttle! Will have a look at the wiring and mess about with the plug gap etc and see what occurs. Thanks again Peeps!

Hi again! Pretty much done everything everones suggested and guess what .....It lives!!!!!!!!!!! starts first kick and burbles like only a TY can.. but....... bluring out on higher revs? Fine pottering around in first or second but not pulling cleanly or reving cleanly when the throttles opened fully? Also what the recommended fuel mix as I tend to add an extra squirt of oil just in case??? Any ideas please? Thanks

Thanks everyone. Have checked the timing its spot on, cleaned points and tested condensor, maybe should renew them and check good connections etc. When it runs it revs clean for a time then dies, does seem like fuel starvation??. when i strip the carb there is always fule in the bowl! I will check the jet sizes Cleaned the carb with compressed air with all jets etc removed, has new fuel tap and I also changed the petrol in the tank. Will give it another shot based on your advice and let you know if I,m still pulling my hair out!! Thanks again guys.

Hi guys, probably been asked 100 times before, but having problems getting my TY175 started and staying running. Bought it to fix up and guy said it ran before being left on the shed for a while! Will start with "start ya *******" down the bore or neat petrol), but wont keep running! sometimes get 2 turns round the garden before it blurs out! Its driving me mental! Have cleaned the carb many many many times! check check check!!! Pilot jet not blocked! - check Fuel changed and filtered -check Reeds look perfect - check Over 100 psi compression on dial - check Float height within tolerances - check Not smoking excessively so dont think its the oil seals - check Any help or advice gratefully received! Thanks

I first built a blasting cabinet, again big enough for larger parts. Also bought a bigger compressor and a blasting pot off of flea bay! Was just going to do the small bits using a household oven then decided to build my own. Commercial curing ovens are a tad expensive so I built one to my own spec. The powder coating gun was relatively cheap and you dont need anything complex to make a booth for the powder coat as its sprayed at low pressure. The basics required are an oven, powder coating gun/system, powder coating powder, Hanging enclosure to spray the parts and a compressor. You don't need a large compressor for powder coating, but you do need a method of stripping your parts either by sandblasting or chemical stripping. Been some time but finally sorted. Built my own powder coating set up including an oven big enough for bike frame and have done the frame in silver. Also coated just about every component possible! Hope you like my photos.
