I'm thinking of buying one of the hydraulic clutch conversion kits for my Climber. Has anyone converted their cable operated clutch to hydraulic using one of the kits from Hebo or Magura? If so does it make a difference to the effort required to pull the lever or modulate the clutch action. Is there a weight penalty worth considering? Is it prone to damage? opinions please?

I am new to the site and the sport and motorcycles in general . This being my first post in the general forum I would post some pics of my project. In October, I attended my first trials event and ended the day hooked on the sport and with a 1976 TY175 purchased from a fellow competitor in the parking area. How did people arrive at their current choice of bike or bikes ? I bought my TX300 Aprilia twinshock as there aren't many about. For twinshocks I'm not really that keen, it's more the social side of the event and catching up with old friends. So I try to buy bikes I didnt own at the time like the Aprilia. The TRS I have is my second one, I'd had a few Gas Gas pro's and I still think they are a very good bike but I wanted a change. I've had Betas before and find them difficult to ride, lots of people ride them well so it's not the bike. Tried a 4rt a couple of times but can't ride them, maybe if I stuck with it but I dont want to spend months learning to rid…

So here I am around retirement age and last weekend I watched my first ever trial. And not before time you may add. Dashed enjoyable it was as well and now I rather fancy giving it a go. I'm unsure whether to plump for an old twinshock bike or go for something more modern. Pre 65 is not a consideration simply on cost. I do prefer the look of twinshock bikes and it seems, in my limited experience perusing these forums, that there may be more trials for these bikes for beginners. I assume that twinshocks will be heavier than modern and spares will be more difficult although possibly bikes like Bultaco and Montesa may be a bit easier than others. No scientific analys…

Has any company produced a budget trials bike that costs about a third of let's say a Gas Gas? I'll bet an Asian company could do it and there would be a strong market for it. If you look at the progress of mountain bikes, they now make very inexpensive bikes with full suspension and disc brakes that copy the designs of the more expensive brands. They could make a TY-250 air-cooled mono knock-off with steel rims and such and have interchangeable TY parts for replacements and upgrades. I've heard of a Korean MX bike that copies a Honda.

Once over someone in the market for a new bike could go along to the local dealer and check out the bikes, if trials bikes were on show, the basic shape still looked like a regular motorcycle. Even if the punter thought he may give trials a try but wasn't that interested in the sport, he could still have a useful trail machine for casual riding. Now the bikes are so small and compact with no fuel range or possibility of sitting down on trails the only person interested is the trials rider, I have heard many times people ask can I get a seat and bigger tank for it. We started talking about throttle by wire as a possibility for a trials bike.. heres the comments .. Wow, Throttle by wire? What would the carb over EFI brigade make of that then? Hi I cant seem to find anything only about the meanings of each trials flag? is it different depending on what club you are in? if not could someone please explain what each flag means? easy route, clubman etc. The reason I ask is because I have a trial this Sunday, so I want to be prepared and know what route to follow . hi new back to trials at the moment just going to do some praticing but later will do a few events starting easy route and work my way up but will need a new set of tyres x11 seem ott but im sure worth it are the mitas any good as a pair are only just over £100 use to use mt43 and liked those

I see some posts on what lads have done for sections in their back yard. These are pictures of sections I have built over the past 12 years, in my back yard. This creek is all concrete mixed a bag at a time and stones set in, the water is from the land drains but only runs when it's wet.

I had at one time seen a web site that explained in great detail how to drill holes in the brake discs for a 2000 Sherco. After much google searching I am unable to find it. I think it may have been an Australian site. If anyone knows the site I am looking for any info would be greatly appreciated.

i have turned my rear tyre around and it all went well until i went to put air into it, how do i get the beads to seat properly, i live not far from a tyre fitting garage so if all else fails i can nip it to there but it would be nice if i could finish the job i started.

Hi, I'm looking to start trial long time ago, so I 'm ready now to buy a bike and learn this nice sport. So, I called some shop and I have different opinion for a first bike and that is not easy for the choice. One shop say me to start with a 125 and the other with a 250, for remember, I m 35 years old, 1m77 for 65 kg and did some trial with bicycle when I was young, some cross with bad memory ( lot of power and control was... Not very fine) and some ride with Ducati on the road. The deal is take pleasure to riding, only trial, learn the basic, slow wheelie, jump on rock.. Don't know how some of you feel on this subject but here goes . Sorry but this subject has been in the back of my mind for ages . I am completely amazed by some of the bikes (road and off road ) that are being touted as " classic" . Bikes what were crap then and are still crap now going for silly money .Not saying that they've not had good ( not em all that's for sure ) jobs done on them ,but for god's sake . I saw an add for a Honda 750 saber .Grotesque looking ,crap quality , i,ll handling junk . Assuring selling point "Great drive" "collectable classic " . If that bike is a classic , i'll platt ***** !
