Well are you? How much is enough? What oil do I use? These are all questions that are commonly asked here. You may find many answers, Some old school, some conservative, some safe. Yet for the most part is seems that many tend to err on the old school rules here that no longer apply and in fact is is costing you money in both higher maintenance and wasted product. I will not even get into environmental concerns here, as it is a secondary issue, yet not forgotton. Now we are talking trials bikes here, mostly putting about, revving a bit on occasion, then you gotta doo the BIG hill and the bike starts smoking like a chimney! Why, you ask? Because it is fully loaded in th…

Sometime ago someone other than Ishy and Wayne posted some pictures of their arena sections (may have been on that "other" bulletin board). I remember him saying something about flagging down a passing dump truck filled with boulders and asking if he could have them. Anybody remember who it was?

Anybody got tips on the dreaded 'forearm pump'?? (lactic acid, so somebody told me) I've just got back into trails from a long lay off, I'm finding the riding ok except that my forearms pump up really bad after about a lap, sometimes it'll go away after a short rest but today i had it for the whole five laps!. I suppose i should ride/practise more often but the family thing puts the stoppers on that one Any tips to stop this?? MG

I have been trying to contact the Armstrong- trials.co.uk website using the email address contact@armstrong-trials.co.uk without success. Would anyone know who runs the website and have contact details for them? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I wanted to purchase some of the spates they have listed. Thanks Des.

Hello again Been offered a 1984 Armstrong cmt 310 in OK condition and OK price. What do people think of these? What's it like getting parts for it? I know it's missing fuel cap and side stand, but at some point will want to restore her can you get plastics? Couldn't see much on eBay

Can anybody help with information and photo's on the bike that Armstrong developed in the mid-80's, as riden by John Lampkin ? It had an Alloy frame and was a Mono-shock with a 240/280 Rotax engine, i know that around 65 were made and badged as Armstrong and Can-Am's in 1986, and a further 10 more were made as 240cc CCM's in 1988. Thanks in advance. Gaff.

I have a beta rev 3 2002. It's my first trial bike, I have had it about a month. It was a little un loved, so needs a bit of tinkering, which it is getting. I am working thought it Anyway, I actually rode it last week, and the rear brake started to bind, so after looking at it I decided to rebuild the calliper new seals and pistons. Putting it all back on and it's not working as it should. I have looked around the internet, I did before I did the work. I am now stuck for what to do next. Symptoms are. Very little brake pressure Most of the time a spongy feel. Ie does not brake very much I have done the following Rebuilt callipers. 4 pot ajp's Pushed the pots f…

Hi everyone. For my AS level DT project, i'm making a rampy thing to get my bike onto the trailer. I know the simple thing is a plank, but this will be a special thing. Part of the folder is research into exsisting projects, so please could some of you say what you use to get your bikes onto a trailer, and if its a special a general description would be great! Any info much appreciated. Cheers, Pete.

As a newcomer to Trials i asked if anyone knew how hard the Dave Curry trial was as it is close to me and i fancied a go. However i was very please to receive a reply from someone on this forum ( AS iow ) who pointed me the direction of the Richmond club who are apparently holding a trial suitable for beginners on the 22nd October I then this morning spent considerable time getting in touch with said club only to be informed that the only trial richmond are running on 22nd is a trial called "The Scott" which they tell me is the Hardest trial in the world ! So AS iow you have either got your facts wrong or are just a time wasting B@$#%&* I was led to thinking that tria…

Hi all, Anyone used one of these for keeping a trials bike in? http://www.asgardsss...p?pro_code=Acc1 Height: 4ft 4" (1340mm) Width: 6ft 8" (2060mm) Depth: 3ft 4" (1040mm) Door Aperture: 1060mm x 1360mm Thinking of rolling the bike in backwards, rear wheel in to the back corner, turning the bars full lock towards the back of the box, and rolling front wheel in. Bit of jiffling so the front wheel's pointing towards the front of the box, bike leaning towards the back with the bars against the back wall. Looking at 1305mm wheelbase of a Beta Evo 200 and guessing the rest (bar height, trail, tyre width) my maths about the size of the box says it should be fine (back…

Just got done with knee surgery and am getting a set of asterisk knee braces for riding my woods bike. I was wondering if anyone has worn braces on their trials bike, and if they are too confining or bulky.

Today I finally got around to properly cleaning up my chain and sprockets (half an hour with the parts washer, should have done it sooner!) and I noticed my front sprocket has noticeable wear, while the chain and back sprocket look fine ... if this was a road bike I'd be ordering a new set, but since this is a little 125 with a chain tensioner as I ok to carry on for a good while yet? Do you replace the lot, or just whats worn? This is my first trials bike, so I'm still learning the finer points of it's maintenance!

I've bought 2 Trials bikes one from dealer and one private and they both said use Automatic Transmition Fluid in the gearbox and change it often. That said to buy 5 ltrs but what and where do I buy it from. I've had the bikes out twice now so am I correct in changing it ever couple of outings or am I being a bit anal changing it that often. Thanks in advance.
