All new trials bikes seem to come with Michelin tyres fitted, are they better than other makes or just cheaper? Do different makes of tyre work better in different conditions? What tyre pressures are best for different conditions?

I've accumulated quite a few downloaded trials videos and several of the Japanese ones (JTC annual reviews etc.) seem to feature a bloke called Gatti quite heavily. I have one that's about 10 minutes long which seems to be him training and practising. I just wondered who he is (my Japanese isn't up to much)?

Any suggestions for music I could use in the background of a short video clip? It's a clip of me in 1992 which I am using on a site I am building for a college project. Here's a link if you want a laugh at the clip. It's not quite Jason Finn! http://212.219.116.40/~sbird/movies/aprillia.wmv

Hello, Im new to trials and recently bought a 1997 Beta Techno 250. I realized later that the lower triple tree clamp was broken. Ive been having trouble locating a replacement part. I tried Beta USA and they found a whole triple tree/fork assembly located in Italy but they wont seperate the forks from the triple tree and want quite a bit of money. I was hoping to find something used or possibly even new at a more budget friendly price point. Can anyone point me to a source to find something like this? Parts for these older Betas seem to be getting rare and trials is not very popular here in the US. Im interested in finding out if some other triple clamps might fit my bik…

I recently bought the climber as have always fancied a go. It was reasonably cheap and seems to be pretty solid except there is an oil leak from the gear shaft that comes through the kickstart shaft. I cannot find a workshop manual or anyone who seems to do the parts, so is there anyone out there who can point me to a dealer or website - any suggestions welcome.

A group of volunteers have created a new way marked trail the whole length of North Cyprus (143 miles) www.kyreniamountaintrail.org. This sustainable tourism project specifically includes areas for motor bike activity. There are three areas specifically designated for trials bikes. This enlightened approach from the authorities is rather unusual in this day and age.

Hi everyone. Totally new to trials and Totally new to beta. I just bought a cheap and cheerfull 2007 rev4t 250 4-stroke. The clutch is dragging and it seems to then when driving it has to be let out completely then it engages kinda sharply. Anyway I found a few hints where you file the glue off the friction plates and polish the little dogs on the plates so I'll try that. But the lever is a bit sloppy and the screw that pushes the piston in the master cylinder is pushing at an angle? There's a small leak there too. Having a little trouble finding a master cylinder rebuild kit for it, hard to identify my master cylinder? Any tips appreciated. I'll add photos of master and…

hit my first steep hill today. was abit edgey at first. got off the bike and checked it out. approached it on idle in 2nd and off i went. im proud of myself.. coasted down it in 2nd too... after a few more goes i lost traction going up brakes wouldn't hold it.. hit a pot hole unexpected, left hand and foot slipped, bent my thumb and smacked my knee on the foot pegs.. but all part of the game. cant wait for my next day off work..

Hi Guys. I've been reading some topics on here regarding machine choice for first timers and opinions seem divided as to which one is best. So rather than ask for someone to recommend a specific make and model, my question is this. Would a year 2000 Gas Gas txt250 be suitable for a novice trial rider? I'll be competing in the 'ahem', over 40's class, and I've covered more miles on road bikes than I'd care to think about. So, what do you lot think?

Hi Guys, just wondering does anybody know of a good handheld GPS for going on long trials, This may seem a daft question but due to the extreme off road capabilities of these brilliant machines, when one decides to have a change of scenery from jumping over things, and given his surroundings sets off on a quest to conquer every mountain around him, and these are mostly over 2,600ft! with the added attraction of cliffs on either side one can get a little bit cought out by Mr. Fog! it would be nice to have the comfort of having some kind of GPS, as the smart phone apps and stuff like that dont seem to work without good phone signal. I was looking into the (satmap active…
