  3. Looking at buying a new or slightly used bike, sounds like Sherco made some major changes in the last 2 years. Is this bike a good pick for a club rider? How does it compare with a 2019 gas gas txt 250 pro? Pricing is within 300$. Thanks

Hi folks. Nearly 7 years since I was on this fab forum. Haven't ridden for ages either (injuries etc). SO...I'm after some advice please. I want to get back into trials but without the expense of a van. Trailer also a no-no (nowhere to store it). I'm lucky in that the local club and practice area is only about 15 miles away so I'm thinking about a road reg'd bike that I can ride to the club site AND ride a trial on. Preferably a bike with lights. I'm wondering if the Montesa 4ride (never seen one in the flesh) can have the big seat etc removed in seconds and is it then a normal 4rt underneath? OR..is there another trials bike that has lights/ling ride seat etc than c…

I have run an IRC Winner rear tyre for the last 6 months or so with no issues, Pressure has varied between 2.5 and 4 pounds an inch, depending on conditions. Just fitted a new tyre to a new bike. As soon as I hit a small step it deflates. I am wondering if the tyre is one from before IRC fixed the loose band issue. Does anyone know how the IRC tyre date of manufacture codes work? I THINK the code on this tyre is 2417 Thanks in anticipation.

  11. I am doing some research for a project about Trials Bike safety features and would appreciate anyone who would answer the questions below Thanks Durability and Safety of Trials Bikes How often do you damage or need to undergo repairs to the bike? (Give examples) How easy are these repairs to fix? Do you ever hurt yourself when riding a trials bike? (Give examples) What, if anything, do you think could be done to improve the riders safety? Trials bikes have many safety features, do you think they go far enough to protect the rider?

Hi, This will be my first bike which I will be buying from 'TOR MOTO'. Has anyone had any dealings with them before? They're located just outside of Halifax. I've got my eye on a Montesa 315R 250 or a Beta Rev 3 250. Both look in good nic. I'll only be taking it easy, clubman trials ect so I don't need anything special. I just want to have fun. What would sway your decision? Anything out of the ordinary I should look out for? What're your experiences with both? Thank you!

Ok so there are 2019 model trials bikes already available from some sources along with the 2018 ranges and very nice they all look to! But which one would you buy and why given that you had say £6000 burning a hole in your wallet? Answers please to include known issues good and bad together with maintenance ease or difficulty. I like the thought of lashing out on a four stroke, but then think that there’s more to wear out when compared to a two stroke. That other niggling worry also comes to mind and that is will the manufacturer chosen still be around in the near future? Lastly the old chestnut, how good is the dealer network and support? I’ve not put down my choice…

Aware that there are rules and regulations that the police have to enforce and teetering on the edge of actually following some I thought I’d make a possibly almost legal registration number plate. Not just another bolt on item just waiting to slice into a leg or rip your manhood off! This was to be a retractable marvel. Photos attached, the grey mud flap was fitted because as usual the plastic mudguards are too short, so aesthetics meant a mod. The flap is very flexible, and there is a Velcro pad at the bottom. The number plate I made from a file folder cover it’s black plastic and very flexible to. I considered buying a flexible reg plate off the internet but at £17+ a…

Hi all know this will open up a can of worms, at the minute I’m on a 17 Beta factory 300 and fancy something different (had Beta for a long time) thinking trrs or a 4rt, know there’s a big difference! The trrs are they a bike that’s set up and don’t have to mess about adjusting carb all the time and run spot on, I’ve been told 250 are a good bike, I’ve had 300s for years so not sure what cc ? I’m a good clubman and do nationals and road trials 4rt will the weight be a issue whilst riding and will it Be to bigger change ? Ridden a few and like them

Fitted All balls Fork seals and they started leaking after only being fitted for a month. Thinking it was the cheap seals I decided to splash out and get a set of skf seals and dust covers. Anyway, first ride out and I notice the dreaded Weeping again ? upon close inspection I have a little scratch in the stanchion it’s really small but you can feel it if you rub your nail across it! Is there anyway to do a diy repair? I tried a bit of nail vanish on it but hasn’t worked although I was impatient and only left it an hour or so. Anyone got any tips for a solution without replacing? Thanks!

If there is such a thing, I feel I should nominate myself! .... Just getting my bike ready for trial this Sunday (should have done all this after last time, I know) - quick clean, changed filter, checked fluids, pumped up leaky rear, filled up fuel...all the usual stuff, then thought I'd just start it up. Nothing!...I tried choke in, choke out, not a chance. Took plug out and checked/cleaned it, still no joy. Cleaned out carb...Then I spotted the problem... no lanyard fitted! Derrr. Two kicks and a massive blue cloud later it was running sweetly! I guess it's the simple things sometimes!
