Hello I've spent many hours enjoying reading posts until my eyes are like p*** holes in snow... I grew up in Yorkshire riding Bultos and Ossas. I explained to my wife that I grew up riding with the Lampkins (I think I saw a couple of them across a wet field, 400 yds away...?) and it is my right to start riding trials after a brief lay-off, 42 years to be precise. I live in Hertfordshire these days. I've bought an '85 TLR200 thinking I'd ride twin-shock events and restore the bike and improve at the same time. So far, new cables, bars, grips, tyres, exhaust, brakes and oils and still I haven't made it out of the garage. I keep breaking bits off and having to sou…

New to TC. Just joined the site and finding my way round it, After going down the motorsport route of rallying for the past 20 years (ESCORT MK2) decided to take up trials And luv it to bits...not road a motorbike EVER...bought a sherco 250 and nearly killed myself at rogerly quarry last year. sold that and bought a GasGas pro . stripped the bike and built it back up from scratch...NEW everything and riding it nice now. Still on the easy course at the moment and getting better after each trial, and learning the sport. Hope to c yuzz out and about Deano

Hiya, More fresh meat for for the forum I'm looking at expanding my two-wheeled incompetence to being rubbish at trials as well as being rubbish at supermoto and enduro. Hopefully this will lead to a mastery of low speed offs, as I have with high speed crashes. Have managed to blag an occasional lend of a txt280 but am trying to cobble a few quid together for a cheapie of my own soon, hopefully. Cheers, Stu

Just a quick hello. I used to ride trails many moons ago. OSSA MAR, then a Green Gripper and finally a Majesty 320 from John Shirt in Buxton. Really enjoyed the time, 1973 onwards if I remember correctly, as a member of Manchester 17. First person who spoke to me at a trial at a small quarry on Hayfield Road between Chinley and Hayfield, was Dave Rowlands. Super chap and a gentleman, sadly no longer with us. If I recall, Dave Thorpe won the trail with a clean sheet. I struggled to get between the sections let alone get up any of them. Hi I have just registered and thought I would introduce myself. Myself and my family live in the mountains of Andalucia, Southern Spain, and have done for over 10 years. I run a guided trail tour company (trail and enduro riding), and have recently been drawn towards trials riding (it was got me into motorbikes 30 years ago). I don't have a bike at present, but when funds permit, will take the plunge. I have a 9 year old son, who has had a 50cc trail bike, and is super keen in getting into trials riding, as there is a thriving competition scene here for both adults and children. Thought i'd sign up and see what its all about I'm a total novice to the world of trials riding - got my first trials bike just last week! I got too envious of my 2 neighbors and their gas gas bikes, and seeing and hearing about the stuff they get up to and the apparent enjoyment they have on them was too much to ignore so i set about finding a cheapish starter bike to see what its like. Hi I currently green lane on a KTM and I'm a member of the TRF. However I have been keen to get into trials after riding a friend's Montesa 4RT in Devon. So all going well I'm picking up a Beta Rev 3 250 this Friday and giving trials a go. I'm not a member of a club yet, I will just be looking for somewhere to practice to start with and get the hang of it. Hello guys I am new here and I got a problem with my 01 rev3 250, this bike been working so good for years until one day just start with problems to start, I did check the spark plug and I seen a little spark, so after that I sent my stator to UK to rewind it , finally I got it back but still no spark ,i check with the tester and I have o ohmns between red and black wires so if anybody would help me I will appreciate a lot. Hello everyone. I'm 62 and just purchased my first trial's bike. I've been informed that there are three types produced in 1988. Again it's a Beta tr34 260. I found numbers stamped on the left side behind the yoke. Beta B 3 This winter I plan a rebuild. Minor one. She starts cold on second kick. Hot on the first. If I can find parts I believe I need a crank seal ( smoker ) and a top end. However far I get I would like it to be correct. Clear coat or paint? Just to mention one of a hundred questions I have. Hi All, Recently acquired a 1974 Ossa MAR, the whole thing is wreck so have stripped it right down. In short I cracked a crank case separating and am now looking to replace the right side case. I bought a nice cheap pioneer case but the only difference seemed to be the size of the crank webs as this chamber is 5mm smaller in diameter than that of the MAR, I have since bought an MAR case 1972 and again 5mm too small. Can Anyone tell me what year/model may correspond with the size difference other than 1974? Engine and frame match. Put me out of my misery please.. Benny

I'm new to this site, so if I'm posting in the wrong area...sorry, please advise. My issue is, I'm re-building an old TY-250, 1974, awaiting a new electronic ignition, new throttle cable that replaces the forked one that controlled the oil injector, and a plate to block the old port for the worm gear that drives the oil injector. While I'm waiting, I'm trying to identify the rear shocks that came with the bike. They are definably after market shocks, red in color and have an air stem at the bottom. I have seen these shocks on other vintage bikes. My question is: What is the manufacturer name? Can the shocks be rebuilt? What is the recommended pressure for a 200 lb …

GOOD Day -complete rookie here - I am looking for advice, feedback and connections. I touched a 2 stroke for the first time in 30 years and I am hooked. This is my dad's bike, I think he bought it new and raced it and gave it to me in the 90s. My dad passed away last year so I decided to rebuild it. I rebuilt the carb, reused everything and it fired right up. First goal, tires and shocks - get it rideable so a third generation can try it and then I will pull it apart next winter and rebuilt it. Well I am finally done round 1. The Montesa is back together and running. I tore it down to the frame, painted and rebuilt it. New rear shocks, tires, seat and 1 new lower fork. It took me 1.5 weeks to get the forks off and now I can rebuild the front end in 30 minutes. Fun and a lot of learning. I still need HELP! Front forks are rebuilt but I have parts missing. 1 fork was seized - it was missing the lower fork piston bushing. I had to get one machined and then honed down to fit. It works amazing now BUT this fork is 1.5" shorter than the other. The shock I did not rebuild it missing something in the top half of the fork that stops the piston. Expla…

I broke the bottom of the lower fork on my Montesa rebuild. ChatGPT told me to hammer down....the forks come up.... I should have realized but didn't. I heard about welding but I think here in Alberta, CA it would be very expensive and no warranty or guarantee. I see exact parts on ebay in the US that look almost new. They look too good to be true but I assume I could rebuild the forks with new seals... Or is it best to try to get an entire fork - upper and lower? The old shocks seemed to be functional 25 years later. Any recommendations would be great.

Hi All, Complete novice just purchased 1979 UK supplied Cota 348.. engine runs but will only go in first gear. I knew when i purchased it that it wasn't as stated by owner, needs lots of work to bring back to something like it was in 79. So can anyone tell me the right place to get parts from in UK. Thanks
