  1. hello, all! I've just acquired a 95 Fantic 249 Section, it was unwanted and given to a friend. He didn't want it either(non-running), so I traded him some work on another bike for it. After a simple carb-clean and some fresh gas, it runs again! Woohoo! I've always wanted a modern trials bike-I've also got a TL 250 in the fleet-now I'm eager to start riding it. Naturally, I've got no information on parts resources or service info on this bike, so I started exploring the internet & wound up here. I'll post some questions in the Fantic section, hopefully the answers will pour in. I'm located in reno, nevada, usa. It's high desert country, with easy access to the Sie…

Hi all. Went to my first trials meet 2 weeks ago and thought i must have a go before i get to fat or old! Just bought a 1978 Montesa Cota 348 in very good condition, I am not looking to be the next "Dougie" just to have some fun and do the easier sections. So, now i have the excuse to loose weight and get fit and the added benefit of joining a great sport. Jim

Hey guys, after riding biketrials for over 10 years I finally got round to getting myself a bike with an engine! To play with for starting I've got myself a 98 Beta Techno which seems to be in reasonable nick and I'm not going to be bothered when it gets dropped or ridden into a tree... Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could point me towards places which are acceptable to practice on the bike- having been used to just riding in town centres and anywhere that takes my fancy, the addition of an engine has thrown a spanner in the works! I live near Bournemouth and work in Southampton and have so far had a quick play at Hut Hill near Southampton and Portland but still not s…

hey. i am new to trials. i was wondering if anyone here knew any good tip sites. by that i mean like sites that give you tips on like what to practice and how to do stuff. i just switched from riding harescrambles to riding trials. the two are very different. also if anyone knows of any trials groups in southern maryland or virginia i would like to know about them. or if there are some virginians that would like to get one started i will be in on it. thanks.

Hello everyone, looking forward to getting input from all you veterans. You all seem very knowledgeable.. I am an old Kawasaki Hare Scrambles Team rider form t he late 80s, Now have a KTM300exc. My friend owns a Beta dealership and I went to a trials a few weeks ago, got the immediate itch and bought a bike within the week. Used but very clean. 2001 Beta Rev3 270 for 2200 What a cool bike. If anyone can point me in the direction of newbie techniques/methods so I do not pick up any bad habits, I would appreciate it. I was a AA rider in HS so I am hopping I get it,,,, Hmmmm maybe not, quite a specialized ride!! WOW I am also looking for a wiring diagram and actually…

Hi all, new to the forum and trialing. Went to a local auto show last weekend and met our local trials club. My 14 year old boy was really taken and in the week since I've found a pair of old Betas at a really good price. Went to buy a 1990 TR35 Reverse and the guy I was buying it from had a 88 TR34 in the shed looking sorry for itself! So came away with both! Both run well but need tidying. Anyway going to the local club tomorrow and hopefully my boy will get hooked, I'm sure I will! Cheers Rich

Hello everyone, my name is Manny and I live in the US. I have an 1982 Fantic 240 Pro that I bought new. I used to ride it throughout New England in Trials. I haven't ridden it in years, but it still starts first kick and runs great.

  12. First of all, hi to all....... I'm new to trials and have brought a 2002 montesa as I've been looking into it and it was a good price for the bike! However I'm wondering if there's anywhere that does any sort of tuition!? I'm based in lincoln and would prefer not to give myself too many bad habbits from the off..... does anyone know of anywhere/anyone that could help? also where do most people go to ride in lincoln? forgot to say, i'm nealry 30 been road riding/moto x/track days for the past few years. I would like to introduce myself as I am new in this forum. My name is Fred and I'm living in the Neteherlands. I am new into trial. I have been racing a for a long time but stopped a couple of years ago. So when the son of a friend started to trial I went looking and now I also caught the virus. I have some knowledge of engines so maybe I can make a contribution this way.

Hi Apart from a couple of days motocross and the odd potter on enduro bikes I am a rider who's seldom been off road. However, I have recently been left a Fantic 240 Professional by my late step father and am looking to take up some trial riding. I guess my start point is that the bike needs some work doing to it (it was running in Feb when I took it out but has since been delivered from Spain in the back of a van and doesn't look as good now). Now, in an ideal world I would have a garage and some mechanical competence, but alas, I am lacking in both. With one bike already the Fantic has not gone down overly well and taking it apart in the garden is a no no. Becaus…

As the topic says already, I'm a newbee to trials, but not to bikes. I just bought myself a '99 GasGas txt270 to try to learn the basics of trials. I got infected by a friend who's into this sport for about 20 years now As for the moment I'll mostly be doing reading and learning, though I might come up with some technical questions, since I do not know the ins and outs of the bike yet. There is a proper chance by the way, that this winter the GasGas will get a third wheel, since the "three wheel fever" has been running through my veins for over 2 decades and that way my better half could participate in the sport
