  3. Started by beerman,

Well I finally did it. Went and got my first real trials bike. Had a Honda Reflex for a few years but got a used Fantic Section (ast least I think it is). Now if I can just determine exactly what year and model it is. The problem I am having whith it is an electrical issue. No spark. Is there anyway I can determine what exactly is giving me fits? From what I understand the bike had gotten fairly hot and wouldn't start anymore. It still has good compression and there's no signs of seizing. I can't seem to find anything on this bike and sure could use a mnual for it. Anyplace in the US that I can go to for parts? Mike

  4. Started by paul wells,

Hello all, I am new to this forum. I just purchased a 1971Ossa Mar from an individual who lives in denver colorado at a very high altitude. He has a mikuni on the bike. I live in sacramento California at sea level and occaisionally ride at around 2 thousand feet. My question is do I need to rejet the mikiuni to run richer e.g. needle position, main jet size, etc or can I leave it. What I don't want is for the bike to run too lean. Sorry but I don't know the model of the carby yet as the bike is still on the way. In any case your help is greatly appreciated. Sincerely Paul and Donna

Hi All, New to Trials and the whole off road thing to be honest, got hooked after an off road try out day run by another forum i use. Had the last few years riding on track, after getting fed up of nearly being killed riding on the road. Anyway, big accident this year, resulting in 2 breaks to my pelvis and 1 to my back, and its time to slow down for a while so thought trials was the ideal thing to get my bike fix and get me fit at the same time! So far......I love it!! Can't get enough in fact and just want to build on my skill level....or lack of it should i say!! Bought a 2001 GasGas TXT 250 as my first bike and so far have found it a very good introduction and ve…

Hi, I’m totally new to trials riding but wanting to do something and get a hobby, I am 45 been round motorbikes all my life, I am worried about starting out at my age with no experience and not knowing anyone, my question is it ok to be a total novice and zero experience not wanting to embarrass myself, can you go practicing and just do easy stuff out of the way and not look silly until I get some confidence?

Bit of back ground first. Had trials bike 20 years ago, mainly trail riding in Yorkshire nothing serious. Been on sports bikes since, but with traffic, road conditions, etc, getting too dangerous. Now living in Norfolk, and found a great place for trials riding 8 miles away(Trials park Corton), so decided to get back into it. Now the problem. Which bike? Don't want to spend a fortune straight off so thinking £1500 or so for bike. For that money seem to be looking at about 2005 ish bike. As no trials shops in Norfolk, Suffolk area realise gonna have to travel, probably back to Yorkshire. Plenty of beta 250 rev 3's about. Various GG 250 txt pro's o…

  14. Hi! Re Edinburgh St. Georges Motorcycle club, I think my Father was a member. His Name was A.M.L.Mclean, better known as Laurie McLean, and he was fairly active in the club in the 50's and 60's. He won a lot of stuff, and competed regularly in the SSDT. I wondered if any older members knew of him or the club? He was born and bred in Haddington, but moved to England in the 70's. He still competed in the SSDT till mid 70's, on a Montesa I think. I have a nice old pic of him on a Royal Enfield. Think it was about 1956, SSDT.Just doing a bit of Ancestry stuff. Cheers Calum Maclean

  16. Started by Skinner,

Hi Everyone, My buddy just gave me this Trail bike for my son. I think it is a 1984 just by looking at other pics . I live in London Ontario Canada and I cant find anything on these except from over seas. It only has 86.4 kms on it. Its like new. It has been stored away for 20 years. The gas was drained and the air box was turned into a home for several mice. The air filter is missing and I need to find one? It has 403 stamped on the cover. Can anyone tell me if there is a Canadian or American dealer? If I cant find anything, what are they worth? I might have to sell it. Thanks Jerry

I acquired this bike some 7 years ago from a very good friend who said, get it going and its yours for your son to ride it when hes old enough to. I did but my friend was tradicly killed 6 months later in a bike accident. I ran the bike for a couple of years after that, replaced the points and plug but then its been in storage for some years and I am struggling to start it.The condensor has been checked and is ok. I dont know exactly what model it is, or the engine size. The engine number shows 29MO2718** the ** may be only scratches and not part of the serial number. I want to restore the bike back to its original condition as I promised this to my son who is now big en…

Hi guys (& gals?) I'm new here and Jeez, I'm getting old... I did a lot of club trials and we used to go to the SSDT regularly in the mid 70's as a spectator. (Bultaco Frontera 370 Enduro.) Continued biking ever since and I'm about to start Classic trialing again. (57!) I live in Mallorca so it's gonna be a Montesa or a Bulto or an Ossa. Trials is big here if on the dry side! No streams & no rivers except when it rains. Then we get torrents that would wash away Ewan McGregor complete with GS. But there's loads of enduro & off-roading except in July/August and then the cops chase the young 'uns coz they'll start forest fires. (The cops have KTMs.) I'm goi…
