Hey up all Im from Evesham in worcestershire, I ride a GSXR as my everyday transport but have very little off road experience and am quite keen on getting a bit muddy, it seems the only off road sport local to me is trials. Could anyone point me in the right direction for a complete beginner in trials and also how to find out about events local to me. Many thanks Brad

Hi, hope someone can help, I'm currently working on my bike, and would like to know the correct grade of gearbox oil to use in it. The original manual says 900Ml of 10W / 30. Could someone advise what would be the right equivalent oil. Many thanks, Andy

Hiya, I'm 50 years old. I started on road bikes 5 years ago with a view to scrambling (from my teens). Now, I've decided to have a go at trials (something I aspired to do in my teens, but alas - finances, then family, kids, etc, etc waylaid that). I had a tow-bar fitted, fitted a carrier, bought an OSSA TR280i 2011. Now what? Yep - typical me - in with both feet (ignoring my favorite saying: "Never test the depth of a stream with both feet!"). Now, I'm struggling to find a legit / legal venue to just practice! Not a venue managed by a club - once a year, but regular, whenever I want (if it costs - it costs). Any help here - much appreciated. Distance does matter obv…

Back after a 5 year break. Had to sell my monty to fund a new van after my old one died in the snow. Got a bit sidetracked racing kite buggies down the beach for a.few years. Moved back to the UK after 8 long years on Jersey and finally bought another trials bike. Well. Actually bought a push trials bike to get fit and ready then got impatient and picked my sherco up last week. Waiting on helmet boots and club membership then I'm good to roll. Just need to get my old account opened up again now. The system won't send me a password reset. Possibly due to a Hotmail address? Can a mod help?

Hi Just thought I'd introduce myself. I went to my first trial on Sunday just to see what it was all about. I knew nothing about the sport other than what I had seen on TV. I got talking to a few people who were only to happy to pass on info and explain the rules to me, what a great bunch of people. I'm 42 and was looking for a new hobby so I've now persuaded my wife to make some room in the garage and i'm hunting for a bike. I was wondering if there are any makes of bike that I should steer clear of and also what engine size should I go for? Any advice on how to get started would be apreciated. Thanks Dave

Hi to all, from a damp and blustery Bratford (spelling intentional). Bikes are in my blood, although I've had an on/off relationship with them for years (sometimes literally). Mainly road bikes up to the last year or so. Name's Graeme, born n raised in Bradford just like the Scott. Bought a TY80 for my 2 year old grandson about 5 years ago. It was at the right money and I thought he'd grow into it. Virtually his first word was 'bike'! Got him started on it on his own on his 7th birthday in July. He's getting on fine and worryingly or not, shows no fear. I bought a TY250 mono '96 from a friend last year and spent a while restoring it to a pretty smart, but rideabl…

Hi all. New beta techno 250 owner here from west Scotland. Bought as a non runner (no spark). Like pretty much all techno's I've seen mentioned on forums the wiring is a rat's nest and seems to be an issue related to the kill switch. Currently having so much fun with the original wiring diagram 🙄 Wish me luck

Hi, I am new. I have grown up around motorcycle trials, but haven't ever had a bike of my own etc and really haven't participated. Anyways I am trying to decide if I should go Bicycle Trials or Motorcycle trials? My Dad has always ridden moto's, but I'm not sure yet. Plus a lot of the used motos aren't all that much more than a new bicycle! so anyways here i am. I am in Utah. anyone else in or around here>? oh and edit: this is what my dad's bike looks like. but he has red fenders.

Hello, Just getting the virtual beers in, I've swapped over to the "dark side" aka Trials from Enduro. The KTM 250F was flogged (before it went bang, but with a new piston in it.... I don't flog duff gear) and a rather tasty '07 Gasser 250 TXT Pro was slotted into its place in the garage. Currently time is my foe, or should I say lack of it (and the pants weather), the GG has been up & down the drive and that's it in a whole month of ownership!!.... not good. I'm a member of the Manchester 17 MCC club and tend to marshall & set up at the enduro events when I can, I've marshalled one trial and spent hours stood in a stream... being a stickler for marks didn't bo…

Hi, just bought an Aprilia Climber as my wife and I fancy having a go at trials. Totally different to what we have been used too as we both road race but I did race motocross in my youth. We haven't ventured any further than our garden as yet ( we have an acre to play around in). Looking forward to the new challenge. Andy and Janet

Hi, I'm just starting the journey in to Trials after many years Road and Enduro riding and have just bought a 2002 Beta 250 (see attached) to practice wobbling and balancing on my driveway before going out and getting muddy. I was looking for a 200 Beta but theyre not cheap and as rare as Rocking Horse S**t then I was offered this for £1k and it seems to tick all of the boxes for now. I see the bike as a stepping stone to something a bit newer once I can progress beyond the garden. As I have no paperwork with the bike, does anyone have a manual for sale or can you point me in the right direction to download one? - I've looked on the Beta web-site and they dont go thi…

Hi Guys and Girls! My name is Andy and I want to try trials, though good start would be to research on the forums what bike to get, and find a place where I can ride! Someone told me there is nice place next to Brentwood's Secret Nuclear Bunker..need to check it out! I've been riding bikes for years, tried mx and green lanes recently and thought trial bike will improve my overal balance and riding skills. Cheers, Andy
