Hi I'm completely new to trials after spending most of my time (and money) being a club racer, and now being 50 years old I thought it might be time to slow down a bit! Only ever been on a trials bike once but loved it even though I spent more time with my ar#se on the dirt I'm from Benfleet in Essex, so if anybody nearby that goes to poles wood need company and no doubt laugh at my expense please get in touch. don't get to pick bike up till the 6th Dec Sean

I've been a lurker here for a number of years. I really like what I see and read here. I'm fairly new to Trials, however I'm passionate about the sport and riding my Trials bike. Which is a 2015 Beta Evo 250 4T. This is my first 4 stroke and maybe my last. However if I wear out this one I'll have another . I belong to the Victoria Motorcycle Club, here on Vancouver Island, which is on the left hand side of Canada and was formed in 1906 or there abouts as a car and motorbike club, with motorbikes being dominant at this time. We are at approximately 250 members. We have a strong trials and other off road following. The club owns 180 acres of prime trials and enduro land.…

Hi Everyone i am based in Droitwich worcestershire and looking to by a bike very soon and if anyone has any advice on bikes (budget will be up to 2k) and places to practice near me i would appreciate it. I have a lot of experience at motocross and enduro and was chairman of an mx club for a while down south but i did have a scorpa 250 a couple of years ago before i moved to Droitwich from Dorset. Looking for something a bit slower now i am older but would really like to eventually join a club and compete in some club trials locally if possible. i look forward to meeting some of you in the future Cheers Andy

Hello Everyone, New to the Forum and indeed Trials... Earlier in the year i bought myself an old but exepctionally tidy, low use Gas Gas TXT 250 (2001), Love the chrome frame... Due to work and other biking commitments ive not really used it much but going forward into 2016 i want to put some real time & effort into getting out on it. Im a relative new comer to Bikes in general, i only started Riding in May this year (im 28), I jumped in the deep end and went straight into Enduro. from the get go i was constantly told to get a trails bike to improve overall... However in the last few weeks/months the trials bug has caught me, i really want to get some …

Hi to all So, I've decided to give trials ago. It's something I've been toying with for sometime and as a friend has recently bought a bike my minds made up! I've been riding bikes on and off since I was about 8. Trial, Enduro, motocross and a little bit on the road. Also been into quads, karts, jet skis, basically anything with an engine. So, I need to make a purchase and get myself a bike......... my dilemma now is what bike to buy. Do I start off with something cheap and older, or am I going to notice the benefit as a trials novice if I go for something newer. I've been having a look around and have found a few quite varied bikes that have caught my eye. 2004 Sh…

Hi everybody, I'm not that new to trials as my son has been doing it for a couple of years now. I've always been into road bikes and have owned them since 16yrs old ( RD50M ). Floated in and out ever since , but currently have a fair selection of toys. Both runners and project. My son is 10yrs old and started messing around on the local farm with a pw50 at 5yrs old. He's moved through a ty80, a very brief spell on a ty80 whitehawk and currently does the white route at Earl Shilton on his GasGas Rookie. Now, i'm sure most of you will understand that I obviously had to get a bike to ride with him on practice days and that bike was a Suzuki 250 Beamish. Had It for th…

Hello! I found this place after a quick google on tinternet so thought I best sign up and say Hello. (Worked for Adele!) Iv been into bikes since I was a little kid, starting in the field at 9yrs old on an old DT125 then doing my CBT at 16 and full test at 17. Iv ridden most diciplines (mostly road based) and currently own 10 bikes, ranging from an R1 through a KTM525 to a mini moto and some mopedathon racers, but trials is the one thing iv never done, I was an avid fan of kickstart as a kid and my oldest brother had a TY175 years back. Last year I bought my youngest (he is 6) a little beta 50 as a step up from the PW50 he was riding, so have decided I'm now too goin…

Hi. Im Tim and have not long got into trials riding with a local club. My bike is a 1965 Greeves TFS which I have recently put back together after being in boxes for the last 35 years. Its interesting riding the same sections as the modern bikes, though I am riding the beginners routes for the time being!

Hello, where to start. I've just purchased a Beta evo 300 4T. What kind of tyre pressures should I be running front and rear? I've been told you don't soak and rinse the air filter in filter oil you just give it a light spray, is this right? How much play shoud there be in the head stock? I Want to do an oil and filter change, I'm told these have 3 filters to change? Any recommendations on oil? Finally, roughly how long should it take for the rad fan to kick in? Thanks in advance

Hi the names Bob I'm in Somerset England , I was helping a mate at work build a bsa bantam trials bike in the workshop I finished up buying the bike taking it home and finished it off over the next few months ( about a year ago ). Bike sat in the garage looking pretty but unused until about a month ago I decided it was now or never I had to start trialing. Dropped myself in the deep end a bit, I took the bike to a local MX practice track to see if it all worked ok for a few hours mostly riding off track amongst the trees etc, any way apart from a few minor problems all went well , so the next week (nov 18th) I entered my first trial with no proper practice , just w…

Excited to be part of the forum! I lucked into finding a 99 model gas gas txt270 close to home on Craigslist. I live in the flats of Kansas but hope to find some places to try the new toy out once I get a few electrical things worked out. Someone has cut into the harness and moved a few things around so if you care to provide some insight on coil, regulator and rectifier locations please chime in on the thread I'm about to start in the gas gas section.

Hello. I am the new proud owner of a 2001 Beta Rev3 250cc. I am new to the trials scenery and fairly new to enduro all together, so I thought I should drop by and say HI. And since I'm here, can anyone point me to the right Dellorto model for my Beta? Its current carb is no good at all. It leaks and floods like crazy. I will try to apply Billy T's mods first, but I am seriously thinking of buying the better carb for her. Thank you.

Hello all. I'm another old fart that's new to trials, though I've been riding for over 40 years. About two years ago I got interested in learning trials riding and as I've always had Bullys decided to buy a M199 that was being sold by a lovely bloke from Queensland. Selling the bike was obviously pretty tough for him; before he would sell to me I had to prove to him that I knew Buls and would appreciate it and look after it. Anyhow, I bought it and set about laying out some practice sections at the nearby forest where me, my son and grandson all ride. What an eye opener! I can honestly say I've never had so much fun on a bike; my only regret being that I didn't discov…

Figure I had better introduce myself. My name is Kevin, and live in Fife, Scotland. I'm in my 40's and decided to start trialling with a few of my workmates. Dug in and bought me a Beta 290 2010 EVO, and all the new kit. ( I'm like action man - an outfit for every eventuality) Anyhow did my first trial on Sunday and got a few cleans on the "b" route. So well chuffed. Anyone with helpfull hints / tips / places to ride local etc much appreciated. Kev

Hello All, After an absence of 30 years plus I decided to have another go at keeping my feet up. Back in the day I rode Bultaco's but could not find one to make my "come back" on so ended up with a 1980 349 Cota instead. I remember riding one in the early 80's although not as agile as a Sherpa (bit longer wheelbase) it felt stable, think I am going to need all the stability I can get! The bike is a black frame red tank model, but not the SSDT replica, my memory is not that good but I think the SSDT came out in to celebrate win before the white tank red frame World Championship replica which I think was 1981? My question is did the 349 come into product…

Hi everyone, I'm a woods rider but getting a old Beta TR to practice with. I currently ride a KTM SX250 and I've entered a few Hare Scrambles and did okay. I read alot about honing skills so trials seems to be the way to go. There are very few trials bikes in the southeastern US. I'm sure alot of people are gonna ask what kinda bike is that.
