It's been a while since I've rode anything on two wheels but a couple of friends have stirred up the feelings again. Though the plan is to go trail riding, I've been looking to try out trials. Hopefully with some avid weekend riding and a new diet/workout, I can regain some of my old form... it's hard to stay in shape behind a desk, lol. I'll be posting questions here and there and would appreciate any input you seasoned riders could offer an old dog looking to learn some new tricks. Kawika

Hello everyone, I've been a member on this site for almost 12months bobbing back n forth mainly reading up and gathering information not really taking an active part more of a voyeur member if you will, so i thought it time i introduce my self - My name is Hughie, i live in the west of Scotland and i have been riding trials since 2001 when my driving license became over heavy with points i decided to sell my road bike and go off road for the winter i caught the bug and have been riding most weekends since, Just sold my trusty steed for the past few years a 2002 315 montesa and replaced it with an 05 250 pro, not content with trying to adapt to riding the gas gas an op…

Been riding dirtbikes for more than 20 years, considering a used trial bike to improve the technical aspect. 2013 Sherco 3.0 with 40 hours 2015 Beta EVO 300 with around 30 hours Both in excellent condition, same price actually. Which would you choose? In a perfect world I’d pick a 250 but none available where I live.

Hi All Never rode a trial bike before, dont own a bike yet either. Had road bikes for 30 plus years and still own a road bike now. Hit the big 50 December 2019 and would love a new challenge and hobbie that involves bikes and bikers and trials looks as if it could offer that . I live in Wolverhampton and am looking for a local club etc to get a bit of info into where to start. ANY help would be great at this stage Many Thanks Darren

Hello all, I'm Simon based in Hampshire UK and I'm just starting to rebuild a 1969 Model 49 Bultaco Sherpa identical to the one I had when I was 15 in 1975! Will be posting for advice on rebuilding teh engne and what special tools etc are needed.

  11. Well, here I am...... Which means I have joined the dark side. Last night at 10.30pm my wife emailed a seller to say that I could buy a clean 2003 Scorpa SY250. I spent about 15 minutes on the same bike a few weeks ago, outside the sellers garage and everything has gone from there. I have been riding bikes since age 14, and am now 48. Currently run a BMW R1200GS for my wife and I. I always wanted to ride a trials bike and used to play about with off road type bikes in the past. My intention is to enjoy myself..... maximum expectation is to be a novice dabber in a clubmans event or two every year. I live in Rochester, Kent in the UK, so if there are places close by…

New to all this standing up and riding slowly stuff. At the ripe old age of 65 I've decided to give trials a go as I'm too old to tear about on race tracks. And falling off a 2 mph is preferable to much faster on tarmac. Well I had a go at the Aqueduct club training day recently and thoroughly enjoyed it on a borrowed Montesa 250. Been riding since i was 15 and done a bit of road racing, but need an excuse to get into the garage for some therapy fettling bikes again, especially with a second lockdown on the horizon. I guess I will be asking lots of daft questions that most of you know the answer to, but we all have to learn from somewhere. Regards John M

Hey ! First post here, new owner of a Montesa 4ride... My previous bike was a Tenere 660 - talk about change compared to a trial bike. So here are a few findings and pieces of information that others might find helpful - or dumb :) (long post !) First - why did I sold the Tenere ? car drivers where I live now are savages, some can't stand being overtaken by motorcycle riders and will do dangerous maneuvers on purpose, while others have a bad habit of overtaking other cars in curves with zero visibility (Russian Roulette style - go figure). roads suck - sand, stones, potholes, detritus, cars parked or people walking in curves, and whatnot.…

Hi guys , I've been riding a gasgas250 pro since May using Plutoline 2 stroke as per the previous owner. Have read a few forums I have decided to change to Ipone. Not sure whether I should drain the tank /clean out the carb before changing or just mix it up and pour in the tank. The bike has been running ok but seems to struggle a little at tick over. I have been mixing 80ml/5litres. Any advice welcome.. Thanks in advance

Ever since learning about motorcycles I've loved the idea of small, light, low power bikes that are fun. I got started on an XR-75 as a full grown adult and I've owned a variety of dirt bikes and other motorcycles. Most recently a honda sl125 which I put trials tires on figuring it will be as close as I ever get to owning a legit trials machine. I had that bike for a couple years and k used it on the street as well as back roads and trails but it was not one you could wheelie confidently. One day while riding a friends property in the hills, I started to give him a hard time about still not having fixed his TLR200 honda. His response "why don't you fix it. G…

Hello all. With the family all grown up and independant, and a couple of spare quid in the bank, what better than to get back into motorbikes after a 25 year break? While I was mainly into motocross and road bikes, I did dabble in trials for a bit with an old Ossa. Now starting up afresh, based near Henley on Thames in South Oxon - any pointers towards local trials clubs, dealers, comps - anything please. And if I buy a Gas Gas 300 - will it kill me? Cheers
