Hi guys, I'm completely new to trials, well motorbikes full stop. There's been what I think is an Ossa MAR 250 sat in the shed for the best part of 20 years now, purchased by my old man for a tenner. As I've got a bit of time on my hands I've started taking it apart with the hope of getting it back to somewhere decent nick (never worked on a bike before but I'm a fairly competent mechanic and engineer). I haven't got as far as checking the frame and engine numbers yet to find out specifically what model it is, I was just wondering if the pattern on the tank is stock? Most of the early models have the green stripe of some sort but i recently saw one with a red stripe? Unf…

There's not much of an indication in the user manual about the fork preload. Is it the 2 holed rings on the fork? In the book, they talk about a special tool. I suppose this is a tool that is made to be inserted in the holes of the top ring?

Just trying to learn a little history on my bike(1970 Ossa Plonker).Did Mick ride the stock bike or close to it in his first few six days (1967,68,69) with Ossa? It was pretty cool to see pics of Dave Thorpe on one in CTM and to read that he did pretty good on it.

Hi, I'm looking for superior twinshock knowledge again. The front sprocket has a step (boss) on one side and flat on the other. Which way round should it go? I've tried looking along the chain line for an obvious visual effect but its really not clear. Also does anyone have any solutions for locking a 10 tooth sprocket nut as the tab washer is too big. Thank you.

As per the title I need to get fluid into my rear brake master cylinder, but as Ossa decided to mount it vertically, it poses a problem, if you just wanted to pop the lid off and top up, just as you would with the Front Master cylinder. Do I need to Use a Syringe and fill from the bleed nipple on the caliper, or is there another way.?? Cheers

Hi, can anyone help me identify which rear hub I have my 350 Gripper. I thought it was original until I went to fit a new sprocket. The bolt holes don't line up on a Talon TR-222. The hub and original spocket have 6 bolt holes spaced as 3 pairs, the pcd is approx 150mm. The new Talon sprocket has the same centre hole of 130mm, the same layout of bolt holes but the pcd is approx 160mm. The only similar hub/sprocket I can find is a Montesa Cota but I dont the dimensions. If anyone has either of these lying around, and a spare five minutes to measure pcd and centre hole it would be much appreciated. Cheers, Gary

After replacing the rear suspension arms on my 2012 bike due to the main pin snapping, I ordered some new swinging arm bolts as the heads where a bit chewed up, I've just come to replace them and the have both shered off at the end of the threads. I've looked at the shocker and the spring is only hand tight can anymore tell me what the measurement of the spring should be with the shocker off the bike from the factory. Once I get that sorted and tightened up will i be ok to use the Alu swinging arm bolts I've just got or should I look for some steel replacements ?

Hi My friends Ossa TR280i started to smoke real bad and was running poor when trying to accelerate. It was perfekt on idle, but as soon as the engine got some resistance it started to smoke and was misfiring. The smoke was white/greyish. New sparkplug did not make a difference. The cylinder head gasquet is ok, and the radiator coolant level is also ok. When i say smoke real bad, i mean enough to get waterbombed by a fire department helicopter. I can only think of two things, something electric, maybe with the fuel injection or perhaps the gearbox oil is entering the cylinder somehow. But the oil level seems to be ok as well. Its a 2 month old year 2012 bike. Any thou…

I just bought the new Explorer. I ride in wet and very muddy terrain. This bike desperately needs a mud flap at the rear to help keep the shock and linkage cleaner, but not sure how to attach one. Has anyone fashioned one yet? Thanks.

Hi all, at the moment I am riding a 250 Mar in comps. Its a great bike, does everything it should but i think its lacking that something extra in the engine department. Its on its first oversize with new piston and rings, 26 mm Mikuni and thinner head gasket. The engine pulls from nothing, but just seems to lack that sharp response when power is needed. So my first question would be, is this a characteristic of the engine? Secondly I have a 250 gripper engine sat in the corner of my shed and was wondering would I get much benefit fitting this in my Mar chassis, and would it cause me much hassle? Cheers HIGGO.

Hi, I have just bought an O.S.S.A, 350 (310cc) trials bike and wondered what the correct 2 stroke mixure would be for it. I have no manuals on the bike at all to check? Any particular oil brand would you recomend?
