Has anyone added a grease nipple to the swing arm pivot on a MAR, if so how was it achieved.

Can someone help please I have picked up a very nice ossa but the previous owner has removed the kill switch and removed the wires from the headlight can someone tell me where the wires go or send me a pic of the connections many thanks Lee

This may come as a surprise but as I`ve only ever worked on four stroke bikes I`m at a loss as to where the oil for the gearbox goes in my Ossa mar (1975). I drained the oil to the primary chain/clutch, which was bright red! There is a sump plug but when removed nothing came out!! There doesn`t seem to be a top up plug for anything!!!! Where does it go, what viscosity and how much oil do I need please. I did mention that there would be quite a few questions....but not that some of them would be so stupid!! Oh, and a pic of how my bike was after a couple of hours in my garage!!! It came as a runner but a bit rough around the edges. Cheers, Nigel.

i have just brought a 2013 Tr280i and amg oing to give the gear oil a cheange... does everyone use the putoline Nano Trans (liquid Gold!!) or is there a cheaper alternative.. was looking at putoline GP10 75w has anyone tried this or any other alternatives that can be changed frequently and cost effectively... Thanks

Apologies, however i am new to the trials bike world. I have got a 1975 MAR 250, it was my godfathers and he passed away last year so i am rebulding it as he wanted to do. I currently have it stripped down and have sourced most parts i need (InMotion - Great service). Just a few questions, i need the crank rebuilding, is this something that can be done at home (i am an engineer and my dad is a mechanic) or is it a specialist job? If so does anyone have any recommendations of companies to do this work? Also i am still short of a few parts, these being: Cush Drive Nut Exhaust header pipe. (must be in good nick as i am aiming for i high standard finish) Rear brake pe…

Anyone had the head and cylinder off their 280? Are the o-rings for the head and the base gaskets reusable?

Hi All, Looks like i'll be splitting the engine on a 250 Mar I've just acquired. It only selects 1st and 2nd ,and I have seen a posting from scotty in 2007, which had a good reply from woody. There was no outcome posted , so wondered if anyone as come across this since. Also does the engine drop out the frame easy, looks quite tight .

Got a bit of a problem with my 2012 tr280i, for the last couple Of weeks after I've ridden and washed it off, I leave it to warm Up and I've notice the breather pipe from down near the gear Lever has oil coming out of it, the last time it had its oil changed Was back end of last year when it had a spring replaced in the Gearbox at my dealers. The only thing I've done different was Last week at a trial I had to lay it down a couple of times not Totally flat and from memory I laid it down on the rear brake Side. Jsp

Can anyone tell me what material the headstock / fuel tank on the Ossas are made of? For some reason I had it in my mind that it was magnesium but can't find anything to back this up. Still looking to powdercoat my frame so just need to know what it is made of before I get quotes. Anyone know what glues / chemicals they use during the bonding process?

Does anyone here on TC know the nearest paint code for the OSSA TR77 Verde please. I thought possibly RAL 6018 Yellow/green but I have not seen anything finished in that colour.

Having a tough time getting the linkage apart.Any tips from those in the know?

As The topic says, I want too fit a long life chain to the Ossa, as I am in sand, mud and dust a lot. I am told the chain is wider by a little but uncertain as to how much and whether it will round the drive sprocket. I know I have to increase the size of the chain tensioner cage. Any clues?

I am looking at a new 2013 bike. Trying to decide between the OSSA , Beta, and Sherco. I'm an intermediate rider. We ride woods with steep hill climbs and steep rock sections, some longer trail rides; all in big mountains (British Columbia). Any comments on the Ossa bikes? Some people are saying the the FI isn't quite there yet, Carbs are still better. How about general quality and reliability? Any suggestions what you would buy if you could get a new 2013? It seems 2014 is the year of Ossa! Future Trial Team have announced a switch from Montesa to Ossa. This follows Top Trial Team switching from Beta to Ossa.

I really dont like that the kickstand/sidestand locks in the up position. The idea is OK, but I want to put it down with my foot rather than have to reach over and put it down by hand. I suppose I could weld a tab onto it, like I did with an old gasser. Has anyone modified this? What did you do?

Hi, just stripped the first fork leg ready for new seals.....the `oil` that came out was disgusting, thin, watery and smelly!! Is the screw always a pig to remove? (still haven`t got it out yet but haven`t tried with a vengance) The spring measures 17", is this the correct length? And how much new oil goes in, what grade? Sorry but the bike is a Mk2, 1974ish. Anyone have any tips on how to hold the nut on the rear brake pedal on the TR280 so I can remove it?
