The big bloak I am - 250lbs. The shop in the US only has a 250i left available for 2015. Coming off a 2012 280i; should I have a concern with the new bike being under powered? My current track/ trail bikes are a 2012 300xc and a 2015 350exc six days. Lewisport says the power loss is minimal and most riders over seas prefer the 250's? Any experience with both the 250i and 280i power performance/ comparison would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi All, I've just picked up a MK2 MAR to add to my stable. There are a couple of interesting features which it would be nice to know the history of. My intention is to trial it and maybe one day restore it. The previous owner has had it for 30 years and has not done any of the mods, its as it was when he acquired it in 84. The cylinder fins have been slotted to take a rubber strip, maybe to reduce noise or vibration. I've never seen this on a MAR before. Anyone seen this before? Other mods include: It has an alloy middle exhaust which looks like a modified aftermarket tailpipe, it has a Colin Appleyard sticker on it. AND...no tailpipe. The swingarm looks to be Mk2…

Took clutch cover off last week to change clutch springs, and found the crank shockabsorber was past its prime. would have been noisy on sunday.

Does anyone know the correct procedure for reducing the springiness of the front end? I am enamoured of the plushness in the Repsol 4RT and know it wont get there but can the ossa be easily softened? thoughts?

I noticed my clutch slipping a bit in the higher gears a few weeks back. I gave the lever more free play at the MC just to make sure it had some. It seemed to get better for some time (it was hardly slipping before). Today during practice I noticed it was slipping again, badly. After some time today the bike was pretty much unable to be ridden. I've not had a chance to tear it down yet but will soon. Anyway I am guessing this bike has less than 40 or 50 hours on it total time as it looked brand new (as in not a scratch on it anywhere) when I got it. So my TR280i is losing coolant and it certainly seems to be going out the exhaust. Beside the fog out of the exhaust, it also smells of coolant. I started to pull things apart and when i removed the exhaust pipe there was a trace of coolant in the pipe. When i removed the cylinder head, the o-ring still seems good. Obviously i will be replacing them, but is there anything else i should be checking before I put it back together? Thanks for any tips.

I broke my clutch lever on my Ossa. Do I need some special type of lever for it? Anyone have a favorite lever they might recommend? Tnx

I have a faulty fuel pump on my ossa and need to remove and install new part. I believe this means taking the engine out, is it at all possible to change pump without taking engine out? Also I read somewhere that a special tool is required to remove the pump, if so where are these available from? Does anyone know if the ossa fuel pumps are used in any other make bikes

While riding, I washed out the front end turning up on a rock face. The bike slipped down and momentarily over revved the motor (as it has done numerous times). I pulled the clutch, picked up the bike and the bike died. I returned down slope and pop started the bike. Returning up hill I noticed the bike had a loss of power and would not idol with clutch fully engaged? Returning straight away to the garage, I noticed the bike was running a bit hot. After a cool down, I topped off the coolant with 100ml/ 3.3oz. (not sure how much it takes to fill from empty). WTF! A bolt on both sides of a pivot? How the heck are ya supposed to get these out? Last thing to remove before the frame powdercoat. Grrrrr!

I recently put a new clutch in my factory 300 and it works fine but the lever is spongy as Hell and it feels like crap. I've never had such a hard time bleeding something in my life. It uses mineral oil, I first filled the lower cavity with mineral oil then attached the line so there was no air below that. Next I pulled the cap off of the reservoir and pushed mineral oil with a syringe attached to the cracked bleed nipple until it was half full. This method has always worked for me first go but not now for some reason. I've tried several times now and the clutch lever feels spongy as Hell, not nearly as solid as it was or should be. Well, just learned of another delay in my Ossa Factory delivery...recall on the main bearing. I'm now on near 3 months delay. So the importer is going to have to uncrate the bikes, repair, recrate, then ship to the dealer. I'm assuming another month or so...assuming the importer gets the parts quickly. So I'm getting a model '14 bike well into the 2015 year...all at a premium price...IF there are no further delays. So... 1. Is The bike worth the wait? 2. Is Ossa healthy financially...seems there have been numerous delays at the factory? The Importer has never made promises...just given me ETA's. Yet Ossa has constantly had issues in manufacturing....not exceed…

Hi, heard all sorts of yays and nays about the 280. Has anyone lived with one (or two) and decided to keep with the marque ? Good and bad points , pref from owners ! Its near the top of my list. Over 50s clubman level rider.

I just received my new OSSA explorer! first 2014 in the country! Great looking bike, lots of interesting and neat details. Once I was told how to use the 'easy start' it fires right up. Air filter is really easy to service, good access for most stuff from what I ca see. I like the under seat storage and simple key remove seat. Clutch felt great, brakes work well with lots of feel. Seems very smooth progressive power. I have ridden it much yet, so I'll tell more later. I'll have to raise the bars for the riding I'm doing with it (standing all day)- but everything else feels pretty darn good. I'll post up some reviews as I get some time on it.

Ok guy's, got a 250 Mar here with leaky fork seal (apparently) and bottoming out alot. On strip down the seals were immaculate with as new edges on the 'scapers' and the dust covers gripped the stanchions good. Stanchions good fit in the sliders, with clean ATF drained from them, though a minimal amount due to leakage. Just guessing here (not my bike) but looks like the oil had got past the seals and then trapped between them and the dust covers....then to the out side world. SOOoooo, would excessive compression tying down on a trailer force the oil past the seals??? or is there some other scenario which would explain how tiptop seals would leak? Any tips…

Hi, I am looking to get a spare rear wheel for practice but haven't seen much online. I have seen gas gas, beta, etc and was wondering if anyone knew if any of these other wheels would do the job? Thanks in advance...
