  1. I,ll have to check how it was set up before they sent it out. Cheers
  2. Just fitted one today, came direct from Gas Gas UK so I,m assuming its set up already for the 300, any one fitted one on a 300, mines a 2011 and had to make any setting changes. I,ve not ridden it yet so can,t say mines wrong but I can tell straight away it's gonna need some adjustment.
  3. Hi Thanks for the advice but definatley not that simple I afraid although I wish it was.
  4. I had another look at this bike today, the hard bit was getting to it at the back of the workshop, after all these months of it standing there it started second kick on crappy fuel, unfortunatley the noise is still there i wasn,t that lucky. I tried what you sugested on another thread , started it up , had bike on a stand in gear and held on rear brake while feeding in the clutch and the whine came in as soon as the clutch started to bite. I rode it round the garden for a bit and the whine is constant until you pull in the clutch, sounds really nice for an old bike until its under load.
  5. Hi I,m after bar risers for a 2011 300 Pro, just wondered whats available, i,ve seen the S3 type but they don,t look like they raise them that much and being 6ft 3" i want to notice the differance, the clamps are the hinged type so most of the mx one,s won,t fit by the looks of it.
  6. I need a new silencer for a 2010 280, what aftermarket silencers are there available, genuine prices are over
  7. I know its some time sinse i posted this thread but i,ve only just had the time to get my hands back on this engine for another look and i,d like to sort it once and for all now, i havn,t tried the above yet but took clutch cover off for another inspection, primary gears clutch and kickstart gear idle all have the hardening worn off but no damage appart from that. when spinning the idle gear with clutch removed it does sound noisy against the kickstart gear but weather this is magnified to the amount i can here when running under load i don,t know.
  8. Hi I recently rebuilt a 07 gas gas 280, i had to replace the selector forks which were bent plus one gear and the kickstart ideal gear. Now the 4 gear is noisy compared to any of the others and gear selction between 4th and 5th up and down is very difficult. I,m gonna strip it down again but is there anything you would suggest i look at closly. Cheer,s Daz
  9. Thanks for that ,i was hoping someone would say that as it,s back together now.
  10. Just rebuilding a 280 pro 07 model, got a question , there,s two o-rings on the output shaft, do these both go in from the outside after the bearing, i know the 1.5mm one sits in the spacer but its the 2mm o-ring i,m not sure on. Any help apreciated. should have paid more attention when i pulled it appart.
  11. Does anyone know the correct puller size for an 80cc gas gas, i think its a 19mm x 1mm but i,m not sure.
  12. Your right about the hub type, and I,ve fitted new hub so there's no play either , the noise does seem excessive but until I here another 2000 model I,ve got nothing to compare it against, everything is working o.k so your diagnosis may be spot on. Only thing that is strange if that was the case is that there,s no noise if the engine is not under load, when running through the gears on the stand it's o.k.
  13. Changed clutch bearing today and still the same, only thing i can think of now is that one of the bearings although all are new is spinning in the case somewhere.
  14. stripped it down today and still can,t see anything wrong, I,m gonna change clutch bearing anyway just to rule this out but don,t believe this is at fault, any ideas guys, last option I,ll have to split cases again, just looking hopefully for a simple fix.
  15. Cheer,s for reply, just read other thread, I actually spoke to Tony yesterday as I know him anyway. Tried the bike today and noise just the same, no change when warm and noise very loud under load, when clutch is in or bike in neutral there,s no noise and if bikes on a stand and just under it's own load it's fine, is it a possibility it's the clutch needle bearing. I,m gonna speak to Rathmells tommorow and strip it down to see if I can find anything.
  16. Hi and thanks for reply, can,t be sure no but all bearings have been replaced appart from clutch bearings.
  17. Just rebuilt a 2000 290, run it up today sounds sweet, as soon as i go to put engine under load in gear terrible noise from clutch, just fitted new master because last one was damaged, clutch works fine , holds and doesn,t drag but as soon as you enguage gear and put engine under load sounds terrible. I hadn,t had bike running before so i don,t know what the clutch was like originally. I,ve only run it up and tried to ride around garden so i don,t know if its likey to go when warmed up properly but sounds that bad i don,t wanna ride it in case its a more serious issue.
  18. Hard to tell i know from them picts but looks like it needs a replate if you wanted to be sure, doesn,t make it such a good buy then. Why woul you blast a piston ? unless it s to make it look better than it is.
  19. Thanks for the info guys, yeah spoke to MRS , Martin was busy at the time so didn,t get a definate answer but as you say Vertex does them, didn,t know they were standard on the sherco,s , seen them on Gas Gas though as standard, i was more concerned with if the piston would fit all years as Vertex say all 290,s but only list as Bultaco Sherco, don,t mention years or later Sherco,s.
  20. Can anyone shed anymore light on this subject, are the earley 290 Bultaco sherco,s the same fitment piston throughout to the later range of Sherco 290, or was there a change over year. Cheer,s Daz
  21. Any one know the hi- flow part number for this, i pressume they do one for the Sherco. Cheer,s Daz
  22. lJust found out tats that there,s only one length on the Sherco,s, didn,t realise, same pipe all models but there,s an insert for the 125,s, Gas Gas different though short and long available.
  23. Can you tell me what the hi flow part number is for these
  24. Hi Thanks for the reply, but would this be to extreme for say a clubman class rider in your opion,or is it just for the pro,s.
