  1. The 2010 Columbia Cup Event Information May 15 & 16, 2010 will be the seventh anniversary of The Columbia Cup fundraiser trials. The City of Goldendale, WA with the cooperation of local landowners, welcomes the riders every year to this fantastic venue for our annual event. Over the past seven years our event has been a major fundraiser for the USA and Canadian TdN Teams and the PNTA Junior Nationals riders. For 2010 we will once again be raising funds to support the young Northwest riders that will be competing in the 2010 Youth Nationals. Goldendale offers some of the world
  2. Adrian - The Columbia Cup in Goldendale, WA May 15 & 16 would be a perfect venue for the Washington / Oregon round.
  3. The 2009 Columbia Cup Event Information - Brought to you by Puget Sound Trialers (PST) and Columbia Observed Trials Association (COTA) May 16 & 17 2009 will be the sixth anniversary of The Columbia Cup fundraiser trials. The event started as an excuse for a few of us from the wetter part of the Northwest to come down to Goldendale, WA and ride the dry grippy rocks. The City of Goldendale welcomes the riders every year and with the cooperation of the local landowners it is a very nice venue for our annual event. Over the years the event has been a major fundraiser for the USA and Canadian TdN Teams and the PNTA Junior Nationals riders. For 2009 we will once again be raising funds to support the young Northwest riders that will be competing in the Youth Nationals. Because it was a fundraiser and a long drive from just about everyone
  4. Thanks guys for the wealth of information, that is just what I was looking for. So far the project has been fun although the engine was a bit more challenging than I thought it would be. It was froze solid, and after trying every trick in the book I ended up having to cut the connecting rod in half! But it's starting to come together. A perfect way to while away the winter nights.
  5. I have a 1974 Bultaco Model 125. But I see that they made three models during that year, the 92, 125 and 133. I can't see any glaring difference, does anyone know what the differences were?

    Stuck!

Thanks Moto, Right now I am trying to use patience, Liquid Wrench and a few hammer taps. I have yet to resort to suspension, the torch, a bigger hammer, or the cut off tool, but they could be coming out soon. I thought about pulling the studs, that looks like it might help a little. Actually I think the hydraulic press might do the trick after the Liquid Wrench has a chance to do it's magic.

    Stuck!

The piston looks like it is about 1/2" below TDC. So I am guessing it is in mid stroke. I'll give the Liquid Wrench & heat a try. I have a lot of patience to go before I will be tempted to start cutting things.

    Stuck!

Yep, that seems to be the problem. I don't know if the bike siezed and then sat or if it is just corroded in place. I have the head off, exhaust and carb manifold. Lots of WD40 has been sprayed about, a limited amount of pounding and prying, but I don't want to damage anything.

    Stuck!

I'm working on a 74 Sherpa T that I recently purchased. The bike was in storage for over 10 years and was reported to be "in running order" when it was put away. But after tearing in to the motor I found she is stuck solid. The broken kick start shaft probably should have been a clue So now I need suggestions on how to get it apart to do a proper job of getting her back in order. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Up here in Washington (Puget Sound Trialers) we heard rumblings earlier this year about a West Coast Series and were asked if we wanted to participate. We are happy to be a part of the series and we have an event that would work well. On May 3 & 4 we host the Columbia Cup in Goldendale, WA. It's a good central location for all of the Northwest clubs and the site of the World Round and Nationals in the past. It would be a good venue and we would be more than happy to have it included as part of a West Coast Series. The May date is cutting things pretty close for the World Round this year, but who knows. The offer is on the table, and our club is willing to be a part of it.
  11. I was paging through the January issue of Mens Journal and they had an article about the Best Motorcycles of 2007 and What the Pros Ride on Their Own Time. It had a panel of four Pros that gave their opinion of several different types of bikes. The panel consisted of Nicky Hayden, Travis Pastrana, Steve Hengelveld and our own Geoff Aaron! Each expert had a little bio. Geoff weighed in on the BMW R1200. Pretty cool to get Trials in a mainstream publication like that.
  12. Where is this club located that gets over 100 riders at every event?
  13. I want to bring up a point that Lane made a few posts ago, the "Barnstorming" that top level riders used to do back in the day. I remember these guys just showing up at a local event to ride with us and it had a huge impact on the local riders. We had a chance to ride with these guys, talk to them when they didn't have their race face on and and learn what it takes to ride at their level. But today you only see the top riders if there is a National in the area. Even when they are a member of your local club, they don't attend the local events that often. Just check the results of local clubs and see how often the names of our top riders appear. So what I don't understand is these guys are paid to ride, it would seem that part of their job would be to travel the country and promote not only Trials, but the brand of bike they are being paid to ride. I think if I was writing their pay check that would certainly be a requirement.
  14. It's been a few years since the Goldendale World Round, you must be about ready to host another!
  15. Dang Bigfoot I have a heck of a time concentrating on what you have to say. That poor lass must be getting a heck of a lot of chaffing going on with all that motion.
