  1. Thanks for the advice. I assume it is similar in design to the powervalves that were in the Yamaha RZ350 I used to have? And htrdoug, thanks for the call on Mike and the Tryals Shop. He had all the items I was looking for in stock.
  2. Thanks for the reply. I will hit up Mike at the Tryals Shop tomorrow. Funny you mention the Gas Gas fender, as my Gas Gas is sitting only a few feet from the Fantic and I was eyeing the rear fender thinking it just might work...
  3. Hello all. I just picked up a 1997 Fantic Section and about the only thing it needs to make it useable is a new rear fender. I rode it around, through all the gears, and everything seems to function fine. The engine has good compression and it appears to be leak free. The tires are dried and cracked, and the bike is very dirty from lack of care, but it appears to be solid. Is there anything particular to this model I should keep an eye on? I spent quite a while scouring the internet over the last 2 days, but have not found any fenders. Can anyone point me to a source for a new, or decent used, rear fender? Thanks in advance for any help. Matt
  4. I've read several places that 10/50 is recommended. Personally, I am running a 9/50 as I like to be able to chug along nice and slow in first without worrying about stalling it. You can go larger on the rear, but as it stands, 50 is already larger than the stock rear sprocket protector (not that it offers much protection).
  5. It is licensed, just for off-road only. I could be cited for riding it on the street and for no insurance, but most of the cops in my area are fairly relaxed about stuff like that. Still, better safe than sorry.
  6. Good call. Looking at the photos of a TLM250, I think you are right.
  7. I just picked up another TLR after being without one since about 1997. I definitely plan on keeping it street legal. It will allow me to hit many of the places to play near my house without worrying about getting cited for riding my GasGas on the streets. I will be doing some updating/upgrading on teh TLR, but it will still be streetable, at least as much as they were from Honda.
  8. Good question. Obviously one of the many Honda's that never made over here to us, but very curious to know.
  9. Does anyone know of a spark arrestor for any of the exhausts (DEP, WES, or Delkevic exhausts) discussed in this thread? They are strictly enforced in several areas that I ride. From the looks in the photos, the DEP system might accept the slip on spark arrestors produced for modern bikes like my Gas Gas, but I don't see any dimensions listed for the muffler outlet so I am just guessing. Thanks in advance, Matt
