  1. Yes I was only look at some pictures of the Rayer conversion earlier and noticed the DT head. Maybe using the whole DT engine would make more sense rather than having to modifiy the TY crankcase to suit. I'll have a look at the gear ratios and see who different they are.

  2. I've had a look about and the sleeve seems easy to get hold of.

    This one here

The piston seems a bit harder, I can't find anyone who does a piston that big for a DT or WR200. I have found some big pistons for Yamaha Blaster quads which I believe is the same engine as a DT/WR but with an aircooled top end.

Not sure is these will work 72.5mm and 72mm Not sure on the pin size though?

    Any tips?

  3. My TY175 is 72.5mm (bigger sleeve fitted) and the sleeve is very thin.

If money is no object then 72.5mm bore is possible but a 70mm bore would be much less labour cost.

What piston did you use? and was the liner bespoke or a modified one?

    Cheers

    Matt

  4. I was chatting to a bloke at the scottish who attmpted to have a go on one, he kicked it over and couldn't get it started so kicked a little harder and heard a loud crunch!!!!!! on inspection it had smashed the casing around the kickstart all the way in to the middle of the engine!!!!!! now according to him this has happened to four or five of the beta 4t's which have had the 300 kit fitted.

This is unfortunaly due to the bloke not kicking the bike over properly not a fault with the bikes internals. Four strokes dont need sunch a harsh prod like a 2 stoke to get it going, a smooth a consistant kick is what's needed. I've seen two 4RTs do similar things down here from people kicking them to hard.

  5. Ive been using the same pair of Jitsie pegs for about 10 months now although they've been on three bikes. They're still in one peice and i haven't lost any pins, i'd say for durabilty they are among the best.

As for the feel of them they are stupidly grippy to the point where you feel like your feet are stuck to the pegs! You get used to this after a short peirod and then they just feel very natural.

  6. dont use a scotchbright i got one from work thinking the same thing to take the scrathes out but i think that the aly is either anodised or a laquer put over to pretect it.(sorry if something like this has already been said i havent read ever post :banana2: )

They're laquered, a right a*** to strip a complete frame.

  7. Whats with the huge selection of top ends! Are we now able to buy a vast array of differnt capacitys for 2t and the one for the 4t plus differnt cams for the 4t?

Looks that way doesn't it?? I'll get my dad to find some info from Lampkins tomorrow.

  8. I don,t think they have got any parts yet, something to do with the stability of the euro.

Think it's more to do with just high demand in all things Beta at the moment. Everything thats coming into the country is already on back order.

  9. and that was only because i ride cack handed!!

Wow you must be some kind of stunt rider to pull off riding with your hands on the pegs

As above Saunders decals are very good quality, just need to get all the Beta decals done in the same material now.

  10. Thats not as much as i thought they where going to be... do they come complete with bearings?

so whats the price of say a standard 07 bottom and top yoke??? (off the top of your head)

They come with the bottem bearing, you have to use your own top one.

    Standard yokes cost around
