As far as I am aware, it should fit fine. The only difference between the 01 and 06 cylinder heads is the size of the combustion chamber. The 01 cylinder head combustion chamber was smaller, giving a higher compression ratio. Where as for 2006, sherco increased the size of the combustion chamber, reducing the compression ratio, making the engine more usable in muddy conditions. They are interchangable, but you might notice a slight difference in power and torque delivery. Hope that helps.

I would question the year. Unless I am mistaken, orange fuel tanks were fitted on the 1999 model. The 2000 bike had a blue tank.

An old Sherco Brochure of mine shows it to be 69.5Kg dry weight. hope that helps :-)
