    Oil Ratio

Hi sorry to sound dumb Just picked up a greeves Scottish 24 tcs Could anyone let me know the optimum 2 stroke oil to use in this bike and what recommended ratio Cheers in advance
  4. Hi yeah rhs is sloppy to not quite as much so,that needs abit of a sleeve to.... Swapping stanchions and Bottoms could be an option but the newer ones are ten times better nick
  5. Hi Just swapping forks over on my198a Picked up a cracking pair at kempton park a few months ago.... I didn't notice the difference untill I went to pop the wheel back in.... Now I'm definately no expert but I think the original fork on the bike are the proper ones for the 198a..with a split sleeve in the lhs leg and a big rebate in the rhs for the nut..(spindle is slotted on the lhs) The good newer set I was told would pop straight in which they do? Problems are Lhs split sleeve is a different diameter about 1.5-2 mm larger so my spindle flaps around like a p###k in a shirt sleeve? And the rhs fork leg doesn't have the rebate.... What I'm asking is there an easy (ish) solution to this or do I have to re machine a new split sleeve to the correct size.......and then machine out the rhs to accommodate the nut..the fork legs do appear to be identicle so they seem to be able to take the modification .I'm cool with having to do this but its just a drag...?...I have access to a lathe and a mill so its all doable.. Thanks in advance

    Bultaco 198A

Cheers guys for all the replys I hope to get the bultaco on the ramp this weekend if I can finish the current project hogging it at the moment.. Then I will definately get some clear pictures of the swing arm etc up for all to see.... The picture below was posted on here some time back but it does clearly show a similar arm on it...I will have to compare.... I got the bultaco as I thought it would be a cheaper experience to the multi cylinder Hondas I am used too.....1 piston 2 rings etc compared to 4 of everything....you can only hope I suppose...

    Bultaco 198A

Ok I'm cool with that and it's nice to know. As long as it's not an unknown untested swing arm....so in what way is it an upgrade..i guess the box section is stronger Does it alter the wheel base too?

    Bultaco 198A

Hi I'm not going to do a full restoration. I got the old thing to use. So 2nd hand parts will be fine where possible and will suit the bikes look

    Bultaco 198A

I don't want to spend to much. And its not going to be a full restoration...i brought it to use and 2nd hand parts will be fine

    Bultaco 198A

I thought it looked crude... I will have to keep an eye out for a original A model swing arm. Like you I would rather have the original item.....also I need a left. hand side side panel would prefer genuine old aged item. Do you know where I should look first. It's an ally tank

    Bultaco 198A

Hi I'm pretty sure it's a 198a...i am definitely going to check tomorrow...i think the frame was originally blue and has since been over painted white..its hard to tell it's a bit of a mess...it does have a rear frame loop...perhaps somebody wanted to copy a 198b. like I say I'll get some pics up tomorrow...thanks for the super quick reply

    Bultaco 198A

Hi I have just picked up a 198a (I believe) It has a square section swing arm and not the round reinforced one you would expect...... Could it be a cross over model from a-b I will get some pics up tomorrow night and pop them up... I was just after some thoughts ..
