  1. Dextron 3 really any make will work if it meets the requirements to be classed as dextron 3 then go for it. I have switched to Canadian tire house brand dextron 3 because its cheap $4.25 per L I just change my oil a little more often to cover my ass.

  2. I have a 2008 TXT 250 almost the same bike and it is a great bike. Look for the normal things wheel bearings, shock linkage bearings, etc... Then if you get it do a full fluid change forks, coolant, trans, new spark plug. Then ride the hell out of it.

  3. most Gassers and most trial bikes are a 60:1 mix of 2 stroke .

Maybe if you are running roads all day you would want a 60:1 but for general trails and section riding 80:1 with a full syn oil is best.

  4. Yes they can be a bit of a pain. <_<

Anything else we can think of Gents?

    Best of balance.

What kind of torx are they standard or spline style(polydrive)?

  5. I use a Gopro HD, there is only one HD version, the other is SD.

The beauty of the HD is that you can film in everything from 1080, 960 wide and 720p @ both 30-60fps, it also has WVGA Standard Def.

Good editing software ain't cheap though.

You should check the gopro website you will see that you are incorrect. there is a full HD to 1080P and one that only does 960P. Good try

  6. I usually remove both seals carefully with a dental pick and put a mixture of 70% waterproof grease and 30% anti-seize in. The anti-seize helps prevent galling in thin lubrication conditions. I use BelRay motorcycle grease but there are others that work well. Not all grease resists water well so make sure it's water tolerant. I probably get 12X the life from my bearings that you were getting.

Now and then, when I have the wheels off, I'll remove the outer seal to see if a little more grease is needed.

Most of the bearings we use are made for higher RPM's/temps/less shock loads and less moisture than they see being used in a wheel and you'll be surprized at how little grease is in some bearings to start with.

So I repacked the bearings and just for your info check out the Lucas grease

I am using koyo bearings and I used a torque wrench today and it is abit tighter than I had torqued it to by hand

  7. There is 2 HD gopros one will do full 1080 and the other will do only 960 but it is 199 vs 349 for the later.

I use the full HD one and you can side mount it or chest mount it. Personally i was torn between the contour and gopro, I chose the gopro after hearing the contour puts out all clips in a MOV format and is a little more difficult to deal with compared to MP4. Also you can get a LCD screen for the back of it to preview your clips.

    More to think about

  8. I assume you remove the inside seal as not to disturb the outter seal and what do you recommend for a grease. Onhand I have Lucas red and tacky grease would that do the trick.

    Thanks for the advice

  9. I have new rear bearings, installed. My question is how long do your bearings seem to last. I am getting about 4 months out of a rear pair, I ride every weekend. Does this seem like normal amount of time for bearings to last and has anyone converted there rear wheel to 4 bearings?

    thanks

    Dustin

  10. Well I am up to about 15 hours of riding and they still feel great. Did a ride with a lot of downhill high speed runs and they are so smooth

    Take it easy
