I have a spare 2005 that had not been started for a while. Would not start, no spark. Eventually replaced the fuel pump, three kicks with the throttle open and she ran. But was hard to start, so rode it in a trail but still hard to start. A mate with 4rts suggested that the valve clearances needed checking, which was done (several times). Still hard to start, but now runs the same as the previous bikes. Checked the pump pressure, 250kpa, checked the idle speed, 1800 when its stable, checked the voltage 12.5V. Disconnected the air hose to the throttle body, change out the throttle body, twice and it's still the same. Will try the suggestions previously and see.. waiting for a compression tester, maybe a valve is passing.
I have been riding a 4rt since 2006 and will not be trading it, but would like a change and with the future of the 4rt looking a bit doubtful it's time for a change.
Had a brief ride on the 4t 250 when they first came out, little bit dull.Nothing like the 4rt to put a smile on the face. And I was asking for experience as compared to the 4rt.
He has been at it since I can remember. How many times has that tatty 200 Honda been on and then pulled off. Another trick is to up the price of parts through the week. See my other thread in Trials talk re other ebay dealers not playing ball.
And try to buy a Gollner seat pad for your Honda, what a joke. Living in Perth WA the only way I could pay for the seat pad was by bankers cheque in pounds, no direct debit or PayPal.
So after I finally managed to arange payment from the UK, he puts a crapy reply on E-Bay and say I should be banned, tosser!!
Thanks for the reply fantic 303, how do we get a copy of your tool? it would be a great help. Are you able to read both maps installed in the bike at the same time.
No, I think you only get the standard 250 map, I just copied the one's for the 06 repsol and transfered to the 07 program. But the instructions are not very clear, has anybody found a way to read which maps you have installed. It only seems to read the last map installed?
Just learned that fact today, we are talking about fitting the five plates from the 06 standard 4rt. Seemingly theyhave grooved plates to allow more oil to flow or some thing, and if this is no better go Mitani.
Have tryed the traetment on the front drum, left it to cure for four days. Rode it in our last club trail and it is still very good. Have sine picked up a 4rt and I thick the tlr has a better front brake, time will tell
Cleaned to carb, checked the float level, filter clean and oiled, new plug fitted, new cap fitted, all carb settings standard. Checked TDI and stator resitinance as per book, ok. Has anybody changed jetting if so to what?
Gordon, what is a plug chop? Chroming was done in Perth WA on old pipe, came out ok.
Hi, has anybody had tuning problems after using a WES exhaust system, if so what settings did you use. My TLR 250F is not running as it was, the exhaust is running very hot, but still has not blued the chromed exhaust, any suggestions.
The WES exhaust was bought from Appleyards and sent to West Aus the next day, it fitted with out any mods. The bike started third kick, after being stripped for eight week's. It has not go the Honda sound but seems not to have effected the engine too badly, but have not yet started the season here yet. The shocks are Hagan, used them last year with out problem. Got them from the Aussie importer from the UK.

Anybody have any advise.
The Beamish Club manual section says there is a mistake on Parts List 5, circlip 36 should go between 38 and 39.
But part 36 looks like it is a spring clip that fits in a location in the shaft to stop 35 gear from moving side ways on the shaft.
The gearbox that I have has part 38 between 35 and 36, anybody know which is right?
Any advise welcome.
Mike
